Today Collider announced that they are cancelling their flagship shows - Movie Talk, Heroes, Jedi Council and Collider Live!

Collider Video will now focus on scripted and celebrity driven content with shows such as The Deep Fake Saga, Comicbook Shopping, For Your Consideration, Ladies Night and Above the Line.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Views and interest in the channel has been dwindling for years since Marc Fernandez took over with views getting even worse following the departure of John Campea, Mark Ellis, the death of Jon Schnepp and most recently the departure of Kristian Harloff.

Staff at Collider Video were told about the decision one hour before the announcement was public. Owner of Collider Video, Marc Fernandez did not answer calls or messages from staff following the announcement as he is on vacation.

Fernandez running that place into the ground

Harloff followed Campea's lead and got out just in time

It's been awful for about 2ish years now, last time I legitimately enjoyed Collider as a whole was some time in 2017. You knew once the Schmoedown left Kristian wouldn't be far behind and that would be the final nail in the coffin.

Also lmao at Fernandez cancelling Jedi Council but not his Star Wars show, what a clown.

Does collider include that one cringe dude who flipped out over not being invited to a theme park and said something like he’d been busting his ass 10+ years as a Star Wars fan?

Nah, that’s Kristian Harloff and he left like two months ago. He was the host of Collider Live and Jedi Council. Views on those shows really went downhill after his departure.

I’ve never understood how he’s successful - he always came across as a bit of an idiot to me yet boasts about how successful his past ventures has been. He’s just run Collider Video into the ground.

Also all these people coming back from their Christmas vacations to find out they've been fired. Fernandez really sucks

That was just a bad moment from Harloff, he immediately apologized but clips online cut that part out

He was part of the OG crew when they were at AMC and just left a few months ago.

Only watched Collider Live and even the quality on that took a nosedive after Kristian left

  • Somehow I'm here and I have no idea about this channel

I wonder if Harloff knew this was coming and that's why he left. He did say he didn't like the direction the channel was going towards when he first left and Campea said the same thing right before Collider switched to having mostly podcasts

Surprised so many people are upset though, Collider is actually trending #8 worldwide

  • Didn't even know other people have left. Last time I've watched them was when I was still excited about Star Wars movies.

It was Harloff’s decision to leave and I think it was due to Fernandez no longer wanting to support the Schmodown. Kristian also got screwed by Fernandez there too by being demoted from head of content development.

Campea left because he didn’t like the way Fernandez was going to change the channel, it wasn’t the same Collider Video that Campea created. He was sour for a long time, he refuses to mention the network by name.

Kristian wanted it to turn more into a podcast thing, I remember him trying to change Jedi Council into a more low-key set-up - just two people on a podcast talking Star Wars.

SEN Live has been getting double the amount of views of Collider Live. Kristian was the reason people tuned into that show.

Roxy and Riley are jumping over to Kristian’s SEN by the looks of things. The two are making their debut tomorrow.

Harloff definitely said a few times it was the direction it was going but it's whatever at this point, I'm sure they'll talk about it on SEN tomorrow.

Good thing I screenshotted this before Campea deleted it lol

  • Jan 3, 2020

Fernandez done them dirty. Apparently hosts were told one hour before the post went live. Fernandez is on vacation so he isn’t answering the phone to the staff.

Most hosts have been let go of. Perri, Coy and Dennis are the only ones currently confirmed to still have jobs.

I have no problem with that. SEN hasn’t been as enjoyable to me as Collider Live was but having some of the Collider gang appear on the show will make it even better.

as long as they still got 'For Your Consideration' i'm good

    watch The Wanger Show instead
