Trump was never winning Colorado in the first place. This is grand-standing so Dems get energized to go out and brag about it to other liberals to vote blue. Which the Democrats are already energized because it’s a known entity like Trump. At most this may turn off moderates/centrists because it just plays right into the deep state oppression (which is fake, atleast in the way conservatives think) so lose lose.

Trump doesn’t need Colorado. Also this has to go up to SCOTUS and the conservative majority will probably vote it down

All of this makes even less since because if Trump was really that evil, why was he not detained and put on trial the day after J6? Why was he allowed to openly run a campaign and launch himself to the forefront?

FBI, CIA, DoD, Democrats would’ve all collectively come together and removed him if he was truly that big of a threat.

Precedents don’t matter because a lot of presidents have a litany of war crimes against domestic population indirectlg through neglect, enslavement, or the bombings of people in the global south.

I may be wrong but it seems like the most obvious outcome is that The Supreme Court will stay the decision on the basis of there not being a conviction. It doesn’t seem likely that the Supreme Court will decide that the Colorado Supreme Court has the power to unilaterally find Trump guilty of insurrection without a trial.

There won’t be a conviction before the election because the court in charge of the actual insurrection trial is delaying it in perpetuity.

If Trump wins the election, he will just throw the case out. If Trump loses, then it doesn’t matter anyway because the election is already over.

Seems like an entirely misguided decision by Colorado which will only fuel the propaganda of the Republican Party.
