My boy (who is a hyper capitalist) read it and called it the best book ever

Had to explain to him that Marx was actually denouncing capitalism

Only shows how big the fax that Marx was spitting was

It's just classical economics. A lot of what Marx says is not different than Adam Smith or David Riccardo. The innovation is the special methods he uses, but he didn't come up with everything out of the blue. The book itself is just an a***ysis of capitalism.

A communist is someone who has read Lenin and Marx. An anti-communist is someone who understands Lenin and Marx.

Hey did you know communism existed before Marx or Lenin ever put pen to paper?

Why do y'all make posts like this. Regardless it makes no sense.

as though its a completely unreasonable position to take?

the onus is on you people to prove that communism works, it's not our job to prove that it doesnt, that's already been proven countless times throughout the 20th century lol

stalin and mao killed 100s of millions

Idk what's more wild: social media "communists" who unironically champion Mao's praxis as communism — or rightoids/liberals who champion century old propaganda by bringing him up as an "argument" against communism

Actually, the latter is def more wild. At least there's still a chance for the people singing Mao Mao to change their perspective. The propagandist seem to be perpetually stuck in the "greatest threat to our nation" 1940s

The vast majority of communists on this site and elsewhere praise and defend Mao so you cant really blame the liberals for bringing him up. Also if you don’t consider Mao’s regime a real example if communism, which government would you

Which government would I? None that I can think of, since the past 100+ years which featured multiple revolutions has only led to those same world superpowers dominating global relations via capitalism.

Those revolutions (and many other smaller, oft forgotten movements around the world) indeed had their share of successes and respectable revolts through cooperation of workers and party members. But they suffered in their national/party leadership abandoning or perverting Communist principles in one way or another (and we mustn't forget the effects of international interventions, of course).

For example: Mao's appropriation of the Anti-Rightist campaign and his behavior towards/treatment of influential Communist party members and workers who supported the party is at total odds with anything that resembles Communism. What happened to those affected by it was no result of Communism, because Communism had already been usurped by Mao's egoism.

Edit: Of course I, like many others have mistakenly done, would forget about that "little island that could (and did)" Cuba. I was distracted with the talk of much larger nations. It's arguably the best answer to your question for now.
