was taking 3 heavy coding courses and algo last semester it was brutal but i learned so much
taking an ee class and systems class this semester which i feel like will complement each other, im really excited for both
also taking a data modeling class which makes me wish i didnt switch to cs so late so i could go deeper into data science
my last class is like a combo of algo and logic and seems like itll be rough, its all online which means i wont be able to focus on lectures at all but exams will be open note, debating dropping it

Personally found all my data related classes to be really difficult

yea it seems like a lot of every type of math, i only have to take this one tho

My very first grad class was graphics that sjit had me shook

why did u choose to take graphics, or was it a requirement? would u suggest taking it?
it seems like the easiest elective i can choose for my concentration, but also the least relevant to my past experience and what im looking to do post grad, the other options are embedded systems and cybersecurity courses
i went through that book over break and thought it was really cool tho, i do graphic design as a hobby and have been wanting to get more into gen art

turns out this class is supposed to be taken as a freshman cs major, i switched to cs my junior year so ive already taken all calc and linear diff eq so all the math stuff is review
really excited to start learning about ML tho wish i had time to take some more classes on this

I took a data mining course as a few semesters ago and it tore me a new one, we had a page of proofs to do before first class as review and I was like yeah I’m out

I took it just cause it seemed interesting among the courses offered that semester, but I dropped it fast asf 😂
If you’re interested in it it’s quite cool it’s just was too much work for me at the time
What are you trying to get into? And are you in undergrad or going into grad school?

im in undergrad looking to work in fintech/blockchain so i think ill end up taking a network security class for that requirement
definitely cool stuff tho idk how far u made it but u get some cool results very quick following that book

did the same for a logic class last semester dropped after the first day and switched my entire concentration so that wouldnt be a required course
its like 3 weeks in and so far weve gone over the BASICS of matrices, havent even gotten to cross product yet

Bruh cross product is the basics of matrices u boutta get an easy A

Nice, wish you the best of luck. I never did that book but if you’re going through it and having a good time that’s a great sign

yep lmao weve just done dot, last lecture was linear perceptron which only needs dot, they expect everyone has only taken like calc 1

na i meant in your course, did u get to render some images at least?

I interviewed for a fintech company a while ago and a couple blockchain companies more recently
The fintech place used lots of Python but also a good amount of hardware related stuff. They use FPGAs to be really quick with like buying or something ? Lol. But hardware class may be useful for this role.
The blockchain space is really young so it seems like the stacks were pretty different in the two different places I was at. The roles I was interviewing for were about developing the smart contract languages tho, so I dunno the other engineering roles at places like that

I fr dropped it like day 2 lol but yea the project was to render a scene that was like in the style of “enter the spider verse”

my understanding is python is used for data a***ysis while c++ and fpgas, like u said, are used for trading tech
taking an electrical engineering course this semester where were building fpgas, took a c++ course last semester
starting some resume projects in rust right now since it seems a lot of newer firms are using rust over c++
need to look more into smart contract dev i dont really know much about that
did u interview at aztec?

thats ridiculous all ive done so far is render spheres in a few different materials thats crazy there wasnt some other graphics prereq for that

Yea sounds about right. And rust is fun but it’d probably be prudent to know a good amount of c / c++ because it’s everywhere in anything hardware related
The smart contract thing was really niche bc I have a background in programming languages / compilers
And nah idk what that is

It was the grad course so I think it’s assumed you took an undergrad one but yea I was out lol. Are you using OpenGL?

No I just used c++
