Most of these fell off a f***ing cliff or ceased to exist after the PS4 came out, with the exception of RDR

Literally only battlefield, ac, far cry, and need for speed has had a new entry with this list in the ps5 era

BG3 cant exist in the big publishing industry thats why I am pointing out how its not part of that. Also my favorite game of the year

Infamous - fell off ps4 cause the ps4 entries sucked. Same company made these
Dishonored - 2 > 1 and came out ps4
Arkham - peaked with asylum but knight is second best ps4
Bioshock - Ken Levine left 2k and the ip behind
Uncharted - 4 (the best one) came out ps4
Last of us - 2 came out end of ps4 and is the best one in that series
Elder scrolls - doesn’t exist
GTA - lol
Mass effect - lol
Deus ex - lol square doesn’t know this franchise exists
Assassins creed - lol sucked since revelations
Battlefield - sucked since post 4
Fallout - 4 was Ight
Rdr - 2 is great
Need for speed - this fell off After ps2 not ps3
Far cry - only 2 and 3 are good

nah because a lot of these were never that good (infamous, bioshock, deus ex revival games) and a lot of these had their best entry in the ps4 era to me (arkham knight, uncharted 4, TLOU2, RDR)

ps3 was an awful console, probably the worst to release since 2000.

100% agree with this, that 'middle tier' is gone

for example, everyone complained about the flood of FPS's / "cod clones" but now there's basically no options for fans of the genre

crysis, medal of honour, resistance, killzone, homefront etc all offered a bit

yeah, which meant you weren't constantly getting f***ed by outages, worse servers and a lack of party chat

ps3 controller was the worst ever and third party games were always better optimised on 360

halo 3 and gears 3 wipe anything that isn't tlou and msg4 but will concede that sony's first party exclusives were stronger

Halo 3 is one of the best games of all time, but PS3 had way more variety, and IMO Party Chat was overrrated, I liked talking with people in in-game lobbies. Made the community more unified

the ps3 was a weird console, Sony's vision for it was strange

the bonkers architecture meant only exclusives could take advantage of it, but when they did it was great

online was basically an afterthought but being free meant a lot (again though - you got what you (didn't) pay for)

to their credit Sony learnt quickly and capitalised on microsoft fumbling the next gen, crushed them. i think it's turning back the other way a bit though, if for no other reason than ms have $ to burn. IMO Sony are getting a bit complacent in their position as industry leader.

although it matters less now that the consoles are virtually identical

1. Consistency = the achievement of a level of performance that does not vary greatly in quality over time.

2. Quality = the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something

Quality is relative to the output surrounding it, not an objective standard

Great game "when it could run properly" aka inconsistency within the game itself

On PC it had higher scores than the other consoles due to better performance aka inconsistency between platforms

And we can both agree that the overall quality of the game upon release with all factors considered was dramatically worse than the AAA games surrounding it, especially keeping in mind that the 2.0 update improved not just performance, but also core gameplay mechanics which were holding the game back, highlighting my point

I do agree that demand on production quality is going up far too high when it should only be what the studio can realistically handle

Honestly, I’m happy to see GaaS collapse as a business model this generation (hopefully)

Smaller studios with proven talent are forced into becoming mindless bots as support studios, and consumers are being f***ed by predatory practices

It’s embarrassing that a studio with such caliber as Rocksteady is basically being used as cannon fodder to develop a DOA Suicide Squad GaaS no one gives a f*** about
