RIPPP
RIP
i bought All The Pretty Horses about a month ago and haven't cracked it open yet but just about everybody i've talked to has adored his work, which will live on forever
finished Pretty Horses last night, loved the last 100 pages. what an awesome introduction to McCarthy’s style and themes.
50 pages in on The Crossing and I’m enjoying this little hunting tale at the beginning, it’s entertaining and cute how some passages are written from the Wolf’s POV
yooo The Passenger is DIFFERENT
HEAVILY enjoying this one halfway through it’s pretty hilarious how everything about this book is so far removed from The Border Trilogy (only McCarthy books I’ve read.)
i love how purposefully comedic it is. even when the jokes suck, they suck so bad that it’s funny. Bobby, John, and Alicia are all interesting characters with thoughtful bits of dialogue mixed into all the garish ridiculousness. Oiler was cool too. don’t think i’d be enjoying it as much without Alicia’s schizophrenic episodes interjected between chapters, though, as the plot has become pretty nonexistent this early.
just got to John’s letter this book is damn good yall. can’t wait to start Stella Maris a day or two from now
