Death rate is climbing, feel like it could reach 10% at some point

Death rate in the US is 2.4%, up from 1.9% 10 days ago

I'm betting it'll be around 3-3.5% when the peak hits, could be higher if our testing stays as poor as it is

Lock her up for 5 years with a 10k fine

What she's doing is worse than ignoring a lockdown and playing ball. She's hoping to harm people. F*** her. If the former can get a year, she should get 5,

I'm just grateful to be living in SoCal right now. Our rate has stayed between 1.9-2.2% for weeks even though our testing is bad. It would be much lower otherwise. Keep that curve flat, keep the hospitals from overflowing and hopefully we can ride this out without it becoming an unmitigated disaster.

Why do people do s*** like that? There are videos of people walking around and rubbing their spit on products or door handles, coughing on items, drinking out of bottles and putting them back on the shelf. Are they mentally ill? Angry at the world? I just don't see a reasoning behind it.

This is why I never leave my apartment without gloves. You can't trust people right now.

California has the 5th largest GDP in the world

Their hospital system is more than ready for this type of stuff. SF has done a great job of flattening the curve so far

I live in Manhattan and the amount of people walking around without masks or gloves, or attempting to live life as normal ignoring distancing guidelines and whatever is insane. It's not just younger people. Middle aged to older people too. People just straight up without masks coughing in public. Tons more people are going to get this and die here and it's because of stubborn ignorance and stupidity of a subsection of the population.
