Do you think real jobs will start hiring? I’m talking about corporate jobs? I stopped applying after March cause a lot of companies had hiring freezes? Is it safe to start applying now or should I wait

why not apply bro ? worst case u waste time..

  • Apr 18, 2020

man i hate weekends at the moment
people think it's getting better but they don't understand that they're doing less tests and mostly don't count all deaths at this time until weekend ends and they're starting to adjust their numbers and doing more tests again
its like walking in a circle lmao

So they literally aren’t showing any accounting jobs on LinkedIn and even indeed. They are showing the same jobs that were open in early March! I have applied to literally 200+ jobs from late January to mid March. Literally

Been rejected by a lot before the rona got a couple calls but literally no in person interview. I had lady trying to make me come for an interview for a marketing position in late March right before the state was gonna get locked down and I told her to give me a call the following week and that never happened. But honestly no I haven’t been getting any in person interviews. And for the last one month there has been literally no activity. I haven’t got rejection emails, or application status updates, recruiters have been dead silent, and also barely any jobs are being advertised

for sure. you're gonna take a paycut and might have to work in a lower position, but accountants are always in need, and we're almost always the last to be laid off in a corporate setting.

I honestly don’t mind! I just don’t wanna get a job in Chicago or the suburbs though. I’m just so over Illinois

Bro what’s gonna suck is that they are gonna make us work like crazy. Over time will almost be mandatory. I’m scared I’ll get a job but won’t have a life outside of it

    Soo Diff

Is it possible to become like a citizen over there?? They probably on some keep mofuckers out s***? Correct me if I'm wrong.

It takes time to build citizenship in every country unless you're rich/have a business.

To move to Canada you need a visa. You can acquire one through a number of ways.

    1. Have a job offer from a Canadian company. This is kinda difficult. You gotta have a reason to get hired instead of hiring someone locally. In demand fields such as IT, Cybersecurity, engineering, etc are more viable, but all companies will want some experience
    2. Marry a Canadian.
    3. Study in Canada.
    4. Working holiday visa, I think it's only valid for a year though, and there are a bunch of restrictions on it

After living in Canada for a couple of years, you can apply for permanent residency (basically the same as an American green card), then a few years after u can apply for citizenship
    get studying I guess

overtime is already commonplace in public accounting. you're already expected to work 60+ hour work weeks during busy season. nothing's going to really change in that regard.

    just go industry

    60 plus f***ing hours?

No wonder accountants are so rude or easily annoyed. They have no f***ing lives i might look into the business field then bro. I need a life and not just be a slave in the corporate world

you'll be a corporate slave regardless that's capitalism baby

unless you decide to go in a governmental position. you do literally nothing and you get paid decently.

    F*** it, let em live
It dosen't matter anymore soon other state's will follow through

Since NYC was so damn dense they got it over with quicky, instead of it dragging out for months on end.

Got it over quickly? Bro this s*** here is no where over, not even slightly.

Bro I was gonna work for the state of Illinois transportation in Springfield but holy f*** the application alone was like a 2 day process and then theirs a waiting period and then you have to take like two different exams and then have three interviews

It took my friend 8 months to get a position working for the state and that too because the lady that interviewed him shared the same last name as him and she liked his vibe

But yeah once you get in the job is pretty chill I heard. During busy season he still works hella hours tho
