i live in norcal and like 80%+ of people i see are wearing masks out and about
you have to even in all food establishments

NoirSoCal here and there are definitely fewer masks outside but in any business it's masks everywhere. I hope it stays that way for a while. Hell, it wouldn't even hurt to be more considerate in flu season generally.
