I feel like we got hit with this pandemic at one of the worse times.

Been wondering how much better we would’ve handled this if we had decent administration in the White House compared to circus town that we have now.

I truly believe this pandemic would’ve been handled so much better under Obama administration.

We probably wouldn’t see such a high death rate count and as many positive cases.

I wish it was possible to access alternative universes and see how our current scenario is handled under different management in the White House.

Thanks. We've all had a lot of time to think things over and my approach right now is putting news on a need to know basis.

Do I need to know that the virus is dangerous? Yes.

Do I need to know that it's in my area? Yes.

Do I need to know how to keep myself and my family as safe as possible? Yes.

But I do know all of those things. I learned them months ago. So reading up on the daily numbers, people's experiences, how the rest of the world perceives our situation, all of it just clouds the water. I'm not really learning anything, only accumulating information.

Especially when it comes to the numbers, it's best to think about things in terms of averages over weeks and months. I'm glad that California is rolling back and fining people over masks, but we're not going to see the results of those efforts for at least 1-2 weeks, so why look at the numbers every day and get upset? I haven't seen the California numbers since Thursday and I'm good with that. Maybe I'll check up on them next Thursday.

But I'm glad the information is out there because, frankly, some people need to be scared. They're putting people in danger even if they're not as risk, so if one horror story or one death report scares them, so be it. But I don't personally need it because I'm already respecting the seriousness of the situation. I paid my dues back in March.

They could have:

• Started the lockdown earlier
• Not open up so quickly
• Not suggested to slow down testing to get lower case numbers
• Not encourage people to drink disinfectants
• Made masks Mandatory nationwide
• Not pretend it's a hoax and put a dumbass narrative in the minds of even more dumbasses
• Not given emergency loans to billionaires instead of small business that need them
• Not held rallies
• Not said "It's just gonna go away" as cases spike

How about using the time given from either the stay-at-home orders back in March or, even better, the initial information of the virus they received last Fall to set up better health infrastructure, proper PPE disbursement to medical personnel and the general public, adequate containment/disinfection measures, more efficient and available testing procedures, better economic safety nets for citizens, etc. to help combat the virus and help lessen its effects. The Trump Administration could've did a lot, yet they more or less did f*** all with the time they were afforded. To say "nothing would've stopped this" is just disingenuous bullshit at best
