My roomates logic isn't adding up.

We got into a mini debate today and he says Covid isn't a big deal, but also he's concerned and skeptical about the vaccine.

His argument is "its a new method of entry, it attaches itself to your DNA. I'll take the vaccine after its been around for 3-4 years"

But Covid itself is new, yet you trust THAT

  • Jan 22, 2021

Just another month of this s*** and I can hopefully get a vaccine

RNA vaccines actually have a minimal chance of causing permanent DNA alteration compared to DNA vaccines.

    verywellhealth.com/rna-vs-dna-vaccine-5082285

"But with any health advancement comes potential risk. Gennaro says that with a DNA vaccine, there is always a risk it can cause a permanent change to the cell’s natural DNA sequence."

"Usually, there are ways in which DNA vaccines are made that try to minimize this risk, but it’s a potential risk,” she says. “Instead, if you inject mRNA, it cannot get integrated into the genetic material of a cell. It is also ready to be translated into protein.”

RNA vaccines are also much safer for the immunocompromised than traditional vaccines because they don't use the virus itself, dead or alive, to provoke an immune response.
