    Yall already vaccinating young people?

I’m a grocery store worker so I’m in the 2nd group of people getting vaccinated. So that’s how I was able to get one so quickly

I was feeling nervous about getting my vaccine dose tomorrow, so I decided to read over some stories from frontline workers at the beginning of the pandemic to properly frame the situation and put into perspective my fears about the vaccine.

Reading over some of them made me cry. Their fear I can somewhat relate to, only just a bit, but it's hard to grasp all the grief and suffering these people faced. In retrospect, it's surreal to see how helpless we were at the time and how men like Andrew Cuomo stood out like heroes because we had nothing else to hold onto when they really only made things worse.

In terms of medical advancement, we're in a much better place in this pandemic than we ever have been, and I'm just really grateful to be alive and having the opportunity to get a vaccination. I had every advantage and thank God that I have family and friends who got me through the financial and psychological challenges of the pandemic.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to still be here waited a long time for this lifeline and I encourage everyone that is able to take it ASAP. Science has this virus on the run at this point but we have to work together to accelerate that process. I believe we can have a summer of healing. But you gotta buy into the science. And that's harder for people than I'd like.

I had a screaming argument with my dad over the vaccines the other day and I view the shot I'm getting as not just a common sense decision for my health and my students' health, but a stand for progress. I f***ing hate this Q s***, man. It's taking my parents from me. But that's the thing you learn growing up: you only have control of yourself. Not your family, not your friends, not your country.

This post ended up being a lot longer than I wanted it to be. Just saying, if you're having second thoughts about the vaccines, just try to put yourself in the shoes of the people who tirelessly worked on them, who desperately needed them so their fellow doctors and nurses could have a break, who wanted nothing more than to turn back the clock and find a way out for their dying loved ones.

It’s incredibly frustrating to see more and more people slide towards the “it’s all overblown” side of the spectrum purely because they want things to go back to normal. I wish their was an integrity in the public debate around the extent of response needed rather than people trying to make it into a grand conspiracy. There’s so many reasons to be wary of the elite without disregarding the seriousness of the pandemic and the need for a radical response.

Got both doses of pfizer, no symptoms besides a sore arm both times, if that helps ease any worries

Thanks. Flu vaccines usually don't bother me one way or the other, so I'm hoping the systemic symptoms won't be too bad. I'm on spring break from work so I'll get the chance to rest either way.

I was having severe muscle aches and a lot of fatigue/chills. After that I felt a cough developing but it never actually occurred bc I used my inhaler to suppress it

I had a fever but it was never super high, and i’m not too sure about blood pressure because I never checked. As far as smell and taste go, I lost most of my taste for a few days, and I would describe my smell as being “disturbed”. For example, when I would sniff my Chipotle bowl it would trigger a strong weird smell

My mom had it, but she’s in her mid 50’s.

It was pretty mild, fever, fatigue.

Overall nothing serious and she’s back to normal now.
