None of us really know what exactly is happening but some of us can at least realize the inevitability of this based on how it has been going for other countries and the trajectory this is taking.

Things are absolutely as serious as they seem to be, and this is only the beginning.

food/supply shortages are already happening in California, this will only get worse as states roll out more serious and stricter policies on what you can and can't do, and the further inevitable cancellations of events/things that will make this all the more real for people.

There will be further shortages and idk how that all works out and how supply is, but there has already been violence occurring on small levels.

If it goes beyond that we'll probably have looting and s***, if this isn't contained (which it probably won't be)

im really afraid for america tbh. yall have a s***ton of stupid, selfish, scared people, a s***ton of guns, a s***ty healthcare system, a lot of people with conditions (obesity, diabetes, etc)...

i honestly dont think the food shortages are the problem

they will focus on keeping these supply lines open and stocked no matter how bad the headlines are

they might start forcing people to limit purchases but they should have been doing that since the start of this toilet paper hoarding meme

it's much easier to fight a logistical problem than to tackle the medical side of this

I think if it started getting violent they'd roll the national guard in and just lock everything... especially during a pandemic like this.

I don't think they are either, but in the short term if too much is announced at once it will cause too much panic and think about the short term effects of that and the lengths people will go to help themselves.

There's a reason everything is slowly but surely being cancelled and shut down, if you do too much at once you cause panic and that's far worse than the actual virus.

    yeah I've been saying this

the second a pandemic like this happens everyone should become limited to a couple of each item by law or something

    this f***in ridiculous

also yeah they will keep stores for food open and those supply lines moving, probably not much else tho

Most people have not processed this yet, or think it's not that serious. Best case scenario we end up on lockdown with ample supplies and food because we'll be allowed to go to the grocery stores in small groups like they are doing in Italy.

You absolutely need to be worrying about you and your family first and doing whatever is necessary to ensure you're covered. Don't be stockpiling a thousand containers of clorox wipes but you should make sure you have supplies to last you a long while.

Things aren't going to be impossible to get but it is going to get much worse once reality sets in and everybody realizes what they have to do.

yeah, i think the government really needs to pull through. dont wanna generalize, but majority of americans act out of fear for their own above compassion for others. s***s gonna get ugly if they dont keep people in line

you have to realize things are being purposely downplayed by design, this isn't an oversight or poor handling of proper precautions. Best case scenario is we are already on lockdown to stop the spread of this, but imagine the reaction the population would have to an immediate lockdown where you aren't sure when you'll be able to get food/supplies again. It would be chaotic and far worse than risking further infection by slowly rolling things out.

they doing this everywhere tho. even here in germany, its slowly rolled out, and people here are more compliant and logical.
