What makes you think he’s gonna win, we’re on the verge of entering a recession, he’s clearly dividing the country with his racist statements, he’s polling very poorly for an incumbent, and Biden is not nearly as disliked as Clinton was.

his followers look at him like a god and thinks all negative press about trump is fake news. Meanwhile he stays popping in the news 24/7 you barely hear anything about Biden.

He's dividing on purpose, because it's easier to manipulate masses of people when they're divided. Watch Trump win this easy, Biden is gonna get the popular vote but Trump will keep his job.

Yes but the next 4 years isn't really what we have to worry about. We have two SCJ's that are in their eighties and if they die and Trump gets to fill those positions, we're f***ed for decades to come.

Chances are they die or retire before November ?

    What?

Is there a high chance that Trump could replace them before he’s out of office?

Regardless of the outcome their will be turmoil 10x what we are seeing now in the streets

It depends on when they die, and I'm saying die as opposed to leave because I don't think either of them will leave if Trump is in office. If he's voted out in November, we probably don't have anything to worry about. If he wins and gets a second term, I would say it's almost a guarantee he'll fill at least one of them because RBG has been in poor health for a while now. Best case scenario if that were to happen is she dies in Trump's 3rd-4th year and the Dems just stall until whoever wins in 2024 takes office. Essentially what the Republicans did when Scalia died towards the end of Obama's presidency.

I would say his base’s influence has been overstated. Independents are trending way more towards Biden than they did for Hilary at this point, and then there’s republicans now who won’t vote for him. You have to remember it wasn’t his base alone that got him the win, it was a combination of republicans sticking with the party, his base, and the unpopularity of Clinton.

Look at how he acts now during an election year imagine him not having to worry about getting re-elected

So would you guys rather a brash old man who improved the economy but is currently struggling to contain a random freak virus from China that’s nearly causing a recession?

    or

a dementia afflicted old man whose been in politics for 40 years but nothing to really show for it besides being VP?

Imo if biden wins he will barely last 4 years and will probably not get re-elected if he does.

Polls do matter, Hilary Clinton underperformed because an unprecedented amount of people stayed at home, and many other factors that contributed to her downfall. I don’t think anyone anticipates that happening this year. Even then, in June 2016, Clinton was up by an average of 1.5 points in polls, fast forward to June 2020, Biden is up 8 points on average. Also take into account that Hillary won the popular vote by 2 million, and lost by a combined 72,000 votes in 3 swing states. 2020 is very different than 2016. The way Trump has been polling, no incumbent has ever won in those same circumstances. And also take into account that a lot of people chose not to vote because they hated Hilary Clinton, although Biden has some criticisms, he is nowhere close to being as unpopular as Clinton was. Add also add in that people have had 4 years to see how incompetent Trump is.

You think people aren't going to stay home even more in 2020, due to Corona? The past 4 years under Trump has been good for America, as a country (aside from the past 3-4 months but that's mostly been out of trumps control)
It may not have been good for a lot of American citizens, or would be citizens, with the travel bans and deportation stuff but.. The dust has already settled on all that stuff and most people can't point to any actual long lasting detriment the country is dealing with bc of Trumps tenure so far. Sure Corona virus and this handling of protests may leave a bad taste in people's mouth at exactly the wrong time to have a bad taste in people's mouths but

5 months is a long time and a lot can change.

I’m worried that it’s going to help him. Most people over 30 oppose the riots. Trump is going to push the narrative that democrat cities are weak and can’t control chaos.

Maybe I think about it differently but 5 months ago I felt identical to how I feel now, the only difference is that everything I already believed about him got put on display for everyone to see in a time of crisis. I anticipate a lot of states switching to mail-in voting, and with the amount of outrage is see with Trump, I don’t think people are gonna let the virus stop them from going to the polls if need be.

People were outraged before he got elected.

People didn’t like the candidates before so people stayed home.

I don’t see why those who were apathetic the first time won’t be this time, especially with the virus.

If we go to mail in ballots, sooooo many people won’t vote. People don’t even mail in the census

Idk not a fan of the guy but he’s more than likely gonna be president until 2024. But that doesn’t mean doom and gloom. I’d be afraid of who comes after trump because that person is gonna have to the clean up the mess that trump left. Good luck to that president.

I don't think that matter really. I think even if Trump doesn't win the election, he'll at least attempt to kill Biden and force himself to be president. Considering who we're talking about here, that's not absurd to me at all.

I do think we can survive with Trump, it would just be 2x worse than what we already saw, especially as he just keeps getting worse and worse. If aynoe's the reason we get into a WW3, it'll be him.

I really feel for the pres who has to come after him cuz they'll have an insurmountable amount of work to do to get the country even close to being back on track.
