What direct questions did I not answer

Bringing up fanbases when the questions asked was about street niggas’ artistic efforts in things like cover art and music videos

bringing up “oh you were that poster that said so and so” and disagreements with posters instead of engaging with the actual subject matter,

He said he feels the reason street rappers aren’t respected on here is because he thinks they put in less effort than the ones from the past

I responded and said I disagree and that I think that the reason they aren’t as respected is because you have a lot of those types of fans who recently got into rap this past decade who inherently see that style as a lesser art form.

That seems like a clear response. Now whether you agree or not is a different discussion. But don’t tell me I’m off topic or dodging what he said.

Eh your post seem really biased and bitter tbh like that isn't a even a real response to what I said.

What does the influx of them have to do with street rappers no longer doing big music videos and covers?.

How would an influx of those fans account for the stylistic regression in street Hip Hops presentations?

that I think that the reason they aren’t as respected is because you have a lot of those types of fans who recently got into rap this past decade who inherently see that style as a lesser art form

Except that had 0 to do with free’s point @Nikedufflebag

  • Feb 22, 2024

Like saying it’s a stylistic regression in street hip hop isnt a hot take nor a stereotype of anything.

We all clowned cash money’s cover arts but one thing we can’t say is it wasn’t something original. You can tell a vision was put into it.

What is the vision for modern street rap beyond “feeding the streets”

Because I don’t agree with him that they are putting in less work or that they care less or whatever

Dababy for example put a lot of work into his music videos and he wasn’t really respected on here so clearly that’s more to it than that

We all praised the music videos. The music itself was not consistent lol

So then it clearly has nothing to do with the cover arts or music videos thanks for proving my point yall just don’t like the music, and that’s fine it’s your opinion. But don’t tell me ice spice is a breath of fresh air in rap when she’s making that same tier of music

ice spice makes fun music that we like. Why yall love to say “lyrics dont matter” when it comes to yall opium reject artists but when it comes to anyone else, oh they the worst rappers to ever touch the mic?

Ice spice has just as much a right to exist as much as new opium signees dxte2422asdf does. Shawty make fun music that we like plus a personality that folks can fall in love with. All yall niggas have is anxiety 😭😭😭☠️☠️☠️

I’m in the very first ice spice thread saying she was gonna be a big star. I like her music.

Again, another example of poor reading comprehension from you.

I never said Ice spice didn’t deserve to exist nor did I criticize her lyrics. All I said was she’s making the same tier of music that hood niggas in the city make yet people on here who turn their nose up at that style will in the same sentence tell you she’s a breath of fresh air.

I don’t know why you keep bringing up Opium or these Melz type rappers with me. I like that kind of music but I don’t listen to it nearly as much as you try to imply and those aren’t the type of rappers I’m talking about

  • Feb 22, 2024

presses play just cant listening for these “90s r&b melodies” frfr

Ppl itt told you that they liked Bent. I think the difference in Ice Spice versus B Lovee type of niggas is the subject matter

Ice Spice aint talking bout no dead black kids in her raps like every other drill hood rapper. Guess what that does for exposure

Yall can say yall like it retroactively but I remember when it got posted pretty much everyone called it ass lol. Same with cash cobain

    Stop making that bullshit

  • earthwalka

    not ready to accept, sorry

We'll still always have the most classic albums and if anything niggas will adapt and be better, factually speaking it has never been more over

So we should pretend Moneybagg Yo is on J Cole, Drake, and Kanye level or we hating on him

And I’m all for black men making moves but at some point praising them for getting rich by glorifying/promoting gangs, murders, robbery, d*** addiction, and other themes the black community is largely crippled from is not the flex you think it is lmao. They are not doing anything with their money and fame earned to reverse these trends and majority continue to partake in them.

tbh this sort of doublespeak been getting on my nerves for a hot minute

like the niggas on here that exclusively bump that Durk, Lil Baby and whoever else adjacent crowd will be the first to s*** on any artists that aren’t solely in that “street” box or dismiss it as scaring-the-hoes tier music but also want the apparent esteem and acclaim that these non-street artists have

literally which one is it lol

The people who say it’s racist when street rappers don’t get the artistic praise that more artsy alternative rappers get don’t realize it can be racist on both sides of that argument

Calling the artistic expression of black artists like Tyler, Jpegmafia, Danny, Kendrick etc. “white people music” because it doesn’t fit in some stereotype checklist is also horrible, Especially when they get called that by a bunch of white kids doing digital blackface (like that dumbass Troy Ave stan guy on here)

This whole argument of modern street rappers not being respected as artists always boils down to a racism thing and to some extent I obviously agree it plays a part but if that’s entirely the case then why do street rappers of the 90s and 2000s not face the same judgment?
