I mean a decade and a half ago you had Lupe Kanye Outkast Nas coexisting with Wayne TIP Jeezy Ross 50 all in the mainstream

There’s only the street rap equivalent in the mainstream now and it’s way more formulaic than what Jeezy Ross TIP Wayne Boosie used to do

Idk, I can say im working on mixing two ep's right now and the artist are trying to make them cohesive.

It's the fist release for both artist and they are finding their sound and figuring out how to make a project.

But they most likely won't get heard by many anyways as they aren't trying to cater to the mainstream and are just trying to make "projects".

So in turn on their next project they may deem it a worthless endeavor, and they will instead of focusing on how to make better projects will spend more time working on making better singles to get heard

The majority of the time it's because everytime someone tries to go outside of the box y'all s*** on it. Casuals don't want or care about creativity.

People shat on Yeezus
People shat on TPAB
People shat on Testing
People shat on Big Fish Theory
People shat on WLR

Etc.

And that's just in rap alone.

I mean I can be detailed and judge each project differently but for the most part when they came I fw them heavy

Carti in general isn't really my cup of tea (blasphemy on KTT2) but I respect what he was trying do. He could've just did Die Lit 2 but he went in a completely different more experimental direction and got alot of s*** for it like the previous 4.
That's why I used that example.
