This is a repost from another thread but the documentary explains how right wing media changed all media
At 1:14:40 an author explains what the Fox Effect is

Right wingers uses racism/bigotry to their advantage,
Democrats may not be active enough but the other side is actively promoting hate
    They created media for it
Here's a well made documentary on the subject

The filmaker interviews writers, scientists, historians on how right wing media came to be and how they brainwash people (including her own father) to be bigots

Great documentary, media recognizes people's insecurities and curiosity and twists their minds to adopt a certain mindset for ratings and as a consequence, this aids politicians in their campaigns to help people vote against their own self-interests.

Reagan really upped the ante, and was able to blind White America to believe he was a great President. For the longest time people had believed in his values, but it was just a smokescreen. Fast forward to a post-Obama/Trump America, both sides deal in extremities and both harbor so much vitriol towards each other, but yet these same politicians and businesses all collude with each other, as evident with Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich with that telecommunications act, and now with Biden being buddies with McConnell

It's not that you can't disagree on policy, but the moment you dehumanize the opposition, and have no compassion is the moment things go down under.

Investment implies turning a profit. Those things are funded by taxes that businesses skirt.

    No that's not really true

I'm going off my economic definition which includes any spending on improvements to any kind of capital. Those things are all assets or some form of capital

    go on...

  • There's no such thing as a culture war

There is such thing as working class white people being ignorant and expecting working class people of color to accept their ignorance because they are both working class and suffering under the same enemy
