I am going to be Leader of the Free World I’ve decided. My first mission is to establish a cohesive outlook on what I would strive/push for, what I am capable of and why I fit that role of leadership. Then my first major goal is setting up an opportunity to do public speaking

I know what you’re really here for.

All real people. Many were circus acts or models. A film called Freaks in 1932 was banned for being too disturbing for public audiences.

    Rabbit Moon (1950)
This is an indie film created by Kenneth Anger, and it depicts a story of Perriot in search for a friend, with whom he believes to be the Rabbit on the Moon. The rabbit on the moon in mythology represents purity and new life. In Japan, a beggar comes to Earth in search of food, asking various creatures along the way. When the beggar receives food from Usagi (Rabbit), he takes her back to the moon to live with him as to payback her kindness.

So where does Perriot fit into this? Well, Perriot(s) are pantomime (acting through physicality) clowns that are often depicted as very lonely expression-able entertainment acts that usually convey a story with their face and body language. Perriot here is seen jumping up at the moon in hopes to make a new friend with the supposed Rabbit.

A Harlequin appears and lures Perriot into fulfilling his loneliness, with the intent of using Columbina (a servant/love interest of the Harlequin clown that usually fulfills evil deeds) to take him away. As time goes on, Perriot ultimately discovers that Harlequin was merely toying with Perriot. We later see Perriot leaping from a great height falling onto the ground next to a white rabbit.

My interpretation is that Perriot is a lonesome figure who is in such desperate need for affection that he has lead himself to believe the folklore of the rabbit is true. When his loneliness is met with bitter teasing and rejection, he kills himself in an attempt to jump towards the moon at a greater height, desperate to fill his heart with belonging. Perhaps Perriot is as innocent as the white rabbit? Perhaps he is a lost child who never felt the touch of a lover not once in his whole life. The blue tint and movement depicts a dream like atmosphere of endless sadness and isolation. It feels cold and it almost seems as though silence is what’s truly playing during these scenes, with nothing, but the crickets and bugs lightly buzzing in the endless void of the night.
