They made one of the most technically advanced and impressive games they've ever pulled off with the best gameplay they've had too. The story wasn't the developers fault.

Amy henning (uncharted dev) and bruce strawly (last of us 1) didnt leave naughty dog without a reason bro.

The people play last of us not for gameplay innovation or graphics, if the story sucks the game sucks general

I'm not saying they didn't I'm just saying the dev team around the game was still just as good as ever despite their crunch horror stories and people leaving. The story writers are a separate team. Also I thought the story was alright, I didn't think it was so bad it deserved the hate it got.
