Sekiro a whole different genre you cant put it with the others
I still feel like they’re similar enough to compare but you’re right they are pretty different
One of the greatest games of all time wym
Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne >
it was ok. i got 5 hours in on xbox 360, file got corrupted. pissed me off but no sweat, i'll start again.
got 35 hours in, file got corrupted. never played it again
The thing about DS2 is that it may be the worst in terms of immersion and theme, but it's easily the most fun Dark Souls imo. There's just so much dumb s*** you can pull off, and the variety is crazy compared to the other games.
DS1 is obviously the classic of the series and the most beloved, and DS3 is the least clunky of the trilogy, but DS2 will always be the most fun imo. Even with the (very real) issues it has.
If it wasn't a Dark Souls title, people would be calling it a classic game.
They’re both incredible games tbf
Can’t go wrong with either
Agreed. Sekiro needed a DLC

Dark souls 2 really got the most adventurous vibe of any game. There are soo many different areas and going through them the first time is really an experience. But the game is easily the most flawed From Software game imo

Agreed on both points
DS2 is overhated
its just different. i get if people dont really f*** with it like the others but to call it a bad game like some do is just dumb.
1. Bloodborne (best lore and art design by far, best combat imo, rally is genius, best RPG builds with Arcane and Bloodtinge)
2. Ds1 (best level design by far)
3. Sekiro (combat is most fun next to Bloodborne imo, level design isn’t quite as good tho. Great game overall with a couple disappointing aspects, best boss fights imo)
4. Ds3 (great all-arounder, very solid, very fun, not very original)
5. Demon’s Souls (great, extremely innovative game with a few kinks and rough patches, some balancing issues, extraordinary level design and atmosphere)
6. DS2 (love/hate this game, the great parts are among the best in the series but some of the design choices are straight up infuriating)
Dark Souls 3 s***s all over the first one and I'll stand by that forever
too unoriginal, pretty much just took the good things from 1 and 2 and added more fluid gameplay. 1 is the GOAT

Well it's a sequel so of course there's gonna be similar s*** thrown in. The Ringed City, Irithyll, the Anor Londo Ruins, the Cathedral of the Deep, the Profaned Capitol. Those zones are all unique and way above the PS3 games designwise. DS1 is great up until Anor Londo and then it just falls off a cliff.
And I'm not even gonna get started on the bosses which completely demolish DS1's, which were mostly garbo outside of O&S and the DLC guys

DS3 is so much better mechanically and graphically, but none of it really surprised me or impressed me in terms of originality. Most of it was either from DS1 or a heavy inspiration from it.
That being said, dont think I'll ever replay DS1 unless there's an actual remake of the game down the line. It's just too clunky for my tastes.
Oh bet I love arguing the DS series.
DS3 boring af and unoriginal. Removed all the best parts of DS2 and didn’t match the level design of 1.
DS1 immaculate until you know where. But it’s f***ing dated and I can’t really get back into it (I have the switch port).
DS2 has the GOAT replay-ability and build versatility. The level design isn’t cohesive overall but because they didn’t bother unifying everything they were able to go wild with the level ideas. They also let you go off in multiple directions to start.
DS1&2 equal to me for different reasons. But both >> 3
BB a flawless game IMO. Best combat with enough variety of builds. Incredible design, art direction and story. My only critique is that I wish it was a little less linear.
Sekiro...I can’t really speak on as I’ve tried to play through it 2-3 times and I keep getting stuck/not getting through Hirata Estate.

Agreed with this alot, especially DS2 having the most replayablity. But wouldn't call DS3 boring
Sekiro is the best game ever to play while listening to Wu Tang
the sounds of the swords clashing is something rza would sample fr

Cant wait to see what they do for Elden Ring. I hope they implement some Sekiro type s***. The parrying and combos are so smooth.
Dark Souls has the best game world of all time
S*** truly feels like it was once a beautiful, living, atmosphere thats crumbled with decay
