I hated that fight a lot. After a while I did the summon and beat it immediately though
Does the movement get better in DS2? I’m enjoying this game a lot but man the movement is rough
DS2 has alot worse movement

The movement in DS2 feels worse in my opinion, it’s less janky but feels a lot more floaty if that makes sense. It’s a different type of game made by a different dev team while the DS1 team was making Bloodborne. I’d say give it a fair shot though, there’s still some good bosses buried in there.

If you're on PC, there's a mod that heavily reduces the deadzones
But yeah, the 8 directional movement is clunky in DS2, but I was honestly a big fan of it at the time lol. Especially playing PvP

I'm still gonna play it for sure, I'm pretty determined to finish out the whole series/franchise

Playing on PS5. What is 8 directional movement?

dark souls is only front back left right 4 direction movement which is why you feel it is so clunky
DS2 is front back left right and the diagonals making it 8 directions
all of the modern games are omni-directional and obviously feel a lot better because of it

Ahh that makes sense lmao
Knight Artorias was incredibly easy with a greatshield and greatsword
Only took me two tries, I saw him ranked as one of the hardest bosses
Done with Dark Souls Remastered! Proud of myself because I always wanted to get into these games when I was younger but they were just too hard for me then I remember my mom buying the original for me and me feeling bad cuz I just couldn’t handle it
Think I beat every single boss in this one which I can’t say about Elden Ring, Bloodborne or Sekiro
Going out of town for the weekend, starting DS2 when I get back
The only one I haven't played at all is DS2. I know I need to just experience for myself but all the criticism has just kept that game on the backburner for me.
....still need to beat like 2 bosses in Elden Ring then I'll have completed my first run lol.

Played like half of DS2 on Xbox 360. I was OP because I kept killing the enemies over and over until they stopped respawning
Played Bloodborne, going to go through the entire series on PS4/PS5 except Demon Souls and DS2. Don't want to deal with that half health mechanic on Demon and DS2 map/enemies felt so disjointed compared to Bloodborne
Just finished all of 2 yesterday, s*** is ASS. I hope 3 is as good as yall say, bloodborne and ds1 are my favs

Dw dude, 3 is fantastic and much more in line with your faves, if anything it's a combination of Bloodborne and DS1

Gassed tbh from the gameplay ive seen it looks awesome
Dude I see why people don’t like DS2, this honestly isn’t very fun so far
Some of these enemies are bullshit so far, and I feel weak as hell. My weapons suck so far
And this half health bullshit is so dumb
And I’m early, I’m at the Heides tower or whatever

It’s definitely a slog at the start before you get the ball rolling, a majority of the best bosses are late game or locked behind the (admittedly great) DLC’s. Be on the lookout for the ring of binding, it’s in Heide’s if I remember correctly, that should help with the health problems. There’s some stuff to love about DS2 but yeah it’s easily the weakest FromSoft souls game.

Word, good looks.
I think I'm gonna try some of the s*** from this vid, probably will make it a more fun experience:
Im not super fond of ds2 tbh I think it has many objective flaws but whats kinda amazing about it since it is so experimental that entire game feels like some strange fever dream. Like in a way how these location kinda connect even tho it makes no goddam sense its also kinda awesome. Aldia popping up to infodump you some insane s*** also kinda ruled
I guess its the videogame equivalent to a Lynch movie like Mulholland drive or inland empire.
I also respect how it tried to be something way different to ds1. Which in return is my biggest critique of ds3 since that game is a bit of a fanservice marathon even tho the rest is amazing

Lmfao bro do not compare the ass that ds2 is to david lynch the nonsensical world design is just laziness plain and simple
DS2 actually killed my motivation and momentum to get through the whole franchise. I haven't played all week after logging like 24+ hours a week for a month basically

Lmaooo it does that to you fr, imo it’s perfectly fine to skip 2 and go straight to 3. You’ll get the feeling back.

I might do that tbh, you’re not the first person to tell me I should just skip 2 lol.
but that Fallout 4 next gen update is also tempting me to put the whole thing on hold and come back later one of my fav games of all time

Yeah just taking a break from the series could also be the move. It’d be a nice palate cleanser after like 5 straight fromsoft games lol.
