theres a version of blighttown in every souls game i think. and the one on DS2 was some ol bullshit
yup those areas are practically the same iirc except the one in DS2 doesn’t have as much area at the bottom/on the ground
Blighttown lowkey top 5 area in all souls games imo
Blighttown sucks and is no fun! debating going straight to DS2
did you ever play DS2? Trust me that early game will kick your ass even more
best starting souls arguably DS3 then go to DS1 and Bloodborne then Demon´s Souls and DS2. Sekiro you can always give a shot

Nope, just played bloodbourne and loved it! So I got the DS trilogy and gonna play these 3 in order before I graduate to sekiro

Sounds goated experiencing souls games for the first time

I wanted to start with 1 so I can see the progression, rather than playing 3 and then maybe 1 feeling super stiff in comparison.
I can still see the stiffness compared to bloodbourne obviously but DS1 definitely got a charm
I went on a DS1 binge last year on switch. Such a good port. Wish we cools get more Souls games on Switch but I acknowledge it was hell just to get Souls 1 to run good. Maybe on a Switch+

going from 3 to 1 was so jarring to me it's a like gradual regression of bloodborne influence

right?? man i bet!
like bloodbourne was my first so i would've naturally probably found more similarities and more familiar things i love by going DS3 after that but then ever going back to 1/2 would be so different.

how was the laurence fight in bb?
Playing DS3 again after not finishing it on release is refreshing. I forgot the feeling of it and it just puts you in a trance.
Already reached both cathedral of the deep and farron keep

honestly wished I played DS1 in it's prime cause tbh it just felt outdated to me but I get its charm and why its praised, the world is great

Sekiro is gonna f*** you because you’ll have Souls habits

bruh how tf is it outdated outside of being a bit clunky movement-wise? it plays so similarly to 2 and 3, just a little slower
y’all f***ing pissing me off acting as if a game that was remastered in 2018 is too outdated to fully appreciate
Sekiro is gonna f*** you because you’ll have Souls habits
It’s going to f*** me regardless
and you'll enjoy every second of it
and i cant wait really loved talking to you guys itt while experiencing these games.

2 and 3 play much faster I mean outdated as it still really feels like a 360/ps3 era game. it's classic for it's time no doubt but they just improved a lot going to ds3/bloodborne
he says in this interview that Elden Ring is a "sequel" to the DS series. I'm wondering if he actually meant a literal sequel or something more like a successor to the series.

highly doubt

Yeah I think it's just Martin's understanding of how the series works, I don't think he's played through the games
Wonder if we'll have some crossover elements like Patches tho
