I am super happy that Fincher is back and had this movie dropped in like 2013 or something I'd be super excited, but idk it feels kinda lame that the first thing we get from Fincher after 6 f***ing years is a black and white movie about the making of a classic movie

I know this will probably be great but im not as excited for it as I would normally be for one of his films

it’s a passion project written by his dad he’s wanted to make his whole career lmao only Netflix is gonna fund this
why would you not be excited
why do people hate black and white

cuz after 6 years of no Fincher movie, I was hoping for something in the veins of a thriller or mystery from him. I don't mind someone experimenting with a new genre but it is off putting when its being done after a long period of absence

How exactly is this experimenting? It’s on the lines of a biopic on the creation of “x” and problems that arose, which he’s done before.

Taking a long break before a decades long passion project adds up rather than just another thriller which he’s well proven at

Also directed many episodes of a crime thriller show just as recently as last year so it’s not really much of a directorial break for him
