well you can look at it in that way, but the truth is the substantial core of this appears to be a period piece about Hollywood, which is a very distinct category in cinema that Fincher has never tapped into

I still mostly view it as worthless because when it comes to the entire work of art, he only did a small amount of it so it hurts the overall experience seeing lesser filmmakers trying to complete it

its like if Fincher only did the first 30 mins of TSN and then had randoms do the rest
