I hated waiting a week to watch a second episode cause I loved the premiere a lot. I think I'll be letting this go till all eps are released tbh. It's what I'm doing with BCS and it doesn't get to me. But having watched this show's premiere is making me impatient af.
this era of binge watching and instantaneous accessibility has really made it hard to follow stuff the traditional way
Week by Week is the best way to consume tv
Anticipation is awesome. And now most people just watch stuff to know what happens
The camera angles and lensing and frame rates they had during the open speech was crazy.
another great episode with even more The Wire actors
not sure but I think the poet who was talking to the DOJ lady was that bad ass kid from season 4 who was always stealing cars lol
at times the writing feels a bit too on the nose and the time jumps can get a little confusing (wish they would pick one way to show them and stick to it)
still, this miniseries has been as good as I hoped for so far and I'm sure it'll get even better

my wallet disagrees but my heart thinks you’re onto something. I notice the anticipation does strengthen my emotional connection to shows
i was gonna wait til the season ends but I lowkey might cop hbomax again now
f*** me this is one of my most hyped shows in years and i still haven’t started yet need to fix that ASAP
show is great, the wire followup ive been waiting for
Love that it’s a miniseries like The Corner
I'm curious, are the comments about Jenkin's alcohol choice a classicist / 'taste' type thing?

The patron scene or is it in the latest episode?

wish The Corner would get an HD makeover like The Wire did

Will never happen
The grainy vhs quality is part of the appeal
John Bernthal really out here acting his ass off
ngl he’s carrying, master of the good ol boy archetype

True, but you can still keep something grainy as hell in an HD space, just depends on how they handle it
This man wayne is hilarious lmao

this mother f***er really got me thinking about working harder for a second

I thought it was just to show Bernthal character how much money he could be making if he did shady s*** like them. He never even heard of patron cause he never had the money for it. But if it’s been brought up again in this latest episode (haven’t seen it yet) maybe there is some symbolism to it
