Hey if we’re not shown that Clark found out Bruce’s mother’s name was Martha, that’s on the filmmakers and our assumptions don’t count. So Clark didn’t know beforehand.
One can appreciate Snyder’s goal to have Batman find humanity in Superman, but the way that goal was achieved was illogical and goofy because:
Now let’s be clear, any filmmaker pointing out that Batman and Superman’s moms have the same name in such a serious movie is goofy regardless of how it’s done and only works in comedy. But there was a way to go about it, and BvS’s way was not it
If you have a problem with how it was executed take it up with Snyder, I am just defending Batman and why Batman would stop after hearing that name.
Visits his parents grave once and has a nightmare sequence after.
Also it’s his mother lol
The nightmare scene had nothing to do with his mother. And visiting his parents' grave is a poor example of showing how Martha specifically had an influence on his humanity. It wasn't developed enough.

Bruce Wayne losing his parents is basically his whole plot. I don't know what else more we need. It's been told a hundred times.

I understand that, and yeah Batman’s reason for stopping at hearing Martha is perfectly explained and makes sense. The problem is: Batman is not the only facet of that moment, there’s also Superman’s reason for saying the name Martha - and that is what makes the moment illogical
(We can talk about how Snyder only cared to make the Batman part of that make any sense and not Superman but that’s another convo)

Ok...but what does that have to do with the movie lacking development that shows the strong influence Martha had on his humanity?

"The movie starts off with the Wayne's murder. As they are dying, Thomas looks to his wife and calls out to her. "Martha!"
The whole reason Bruce Wayne got really mad at Superman in the first place was because of the little girl in Metropolis. She was crying because she got separated from her mother. When Bruce asked her where her mother was, she pointed to the destroyed building. That's the first time that Bruce showed actual anger towards Superman as he looked to the sky and held the little girl in his arms.
We later have a scene of him going to put flowers on his mother's tomb. As he stands before it, blood seeps through the stone. A giant bat like creature then pops out of the tomb. Not Thomas' tomb, Martha's."
You know what this little discussion is showing? Snyder would have been better off making BvS a stand-alone Batman movie about Batman regaining his humanity

I agree I'm not sure why Superman said Martha instead of my mom or mother. It feels forced.
Unless Batman would assume his actual mother isn't human so the name Martha would make Batman think of a human death.
Idk

None this actually shows how his mother specifically influenced the humanity in him. It just shows a vague connection he has with his mother.
Once Superman shouts "Martha"...you are supposed to assume his mother had a strong influence on his humanity. The instances in the movie do not show that. They just show he is still dealing with the loss of his mother. Which is why the Martha moment is poorly developed and so many people had a problem with it.

We need a whole movie of his childhood tbh
Superman appeared in court to surrender but got framed for the explosion
You know why thats stupid? Because in any other situation Bruce is a know it all. He usually has the ability to discern some s***.
Just imagine Kevin Conroy saying
" why would he surrender if he's just gonna blow up the court room? He hasn't shown any radical behavior before. Maybe someone wanted us to think he's a monster"
Cause it's not like he hasn't encountered villainous masterminds before.
Idk maybe I'm asking to much detective work from the "greatest detective"

WB did Snyder wrong making him put all this s*** in a movie just so they can have their Justice League movie.
Hoping for batman beyond

Batman is flawed in this movie. He has fallen off the wagon and blinded by taking Superman down.
Superman is flawed in this movie. He isn't very smart and is a pawn to Lex.
These aren't your regular portrayals the the two characters.

Bars
Bro I just want a Martian Manhunter movie
Would be DCEUs first hero of color to have their own film
Batman stans swear might=right.
I guess thats why Superman is boring to yall because you think he has all the answers because he's "all powerful"
Yall think Batman beating people makes him right
Aye how is Superman all powerful if Batman couldve killed him?
There's loads of people who Superman struggles against. He's just stronger than Batman so yall call him OP.
He make yall feel powerless and insecure. Thats why yall relate to Maga Batman
They need to expand on the bat family and just go for a Batman movie verse then
