I think he’s confusing creativity with diversity. The game is a lot more diverse now which is cool.

    Who’s better than Black Thought?

most rappers with an actual personality

  • Apr 28, 2022

Dudes itt saying creativity is better?

What creative songs have come out in the mainstream in the last 5 years? It's all about b****es, d****, dances and money lol nothing like Nas, Em, Pac level creativity. Producers carry rappers these days.

That convo wasn’t about personality or any nom-tangibles, it was specifically about rap skill comparing it to things like swimming

  • Apr 28, 2022

Wtf does David De Gea know about rap anyway

    Creatively? In a way yes.

    But overall ? Definitely not.
You really don't need to be that good of a rapper nowadays to be poppin

The standards were much higher back then

    PAPI NIGGA DAVE

F*** is so special and creative bout the those songs. They sound good but don't gas em like they walk on water

They got concepts and stories. Something a lot of rappers aren’t doing today.

  • Apr 28, 2022

the art of rapping has insanely improved on a general level but 90's is by far still the golden era

You can have all the flows you want and rap over whatever kinda production you want. It don't really mean much if you ain't really saying all that much to begin with.

  • He’s right

  • El Nigga

lol please. Rappers don't even know how to rap now a days

Lotta lazy basic bars with a focus on autotuned humming/moaning to help them try to ride the beat more.

That's the other thing too. How are rappers "10x better than rappers back in the day" if these dudes are hardly even able to rap on beat these days

  • Apr 28, 2022
    RareRarFiles

because 95% of them including whoever DDG is are :

    1 - not good
2 - don't care about rap just want to get famous quick
    3 - carried by production

All those languages and you chose to speak facts.

  • Apr 28, 2022

this is funny bc I was listening to some late 90s/early 2000’s rap the other day and s*** really sounded like a whole other genre.

  • Apr 28, 2022
    MrIndigo96

would have to disagree tbh, feel like rappers from the 90's and 2000's were more in love and enamored with hiphop as a culture and constantly wanted to impress each other with bars.

nowadays it's more about streams, sales, and rappers nowadays would rather be seen as rockstars and venture further away from hiphop.

Niggas aint even making songs like

    Many men
    Jesus walk
    Stan
    Hail mary
    Crossroads

So I wouldn’t even say it’s more creative either

  • Apr 28, 2022

Absolutely not and anyone who says otherwise was born after 2000 or is lying to themselves
