Holup you beat the game?

Anything in particular that stood out for you in DS2 compared to DS1, whether it's a positive thing or negative?

I feel somewhat similar to how i did when i finished DS for the first time
not disappointed but not completely pleased either, i loved a lot of things about the end but a lot of things left me wanting more, ill definitely be thinking about it for a long time though and im probably gonna replay the game by the end of the year tbh
In terms of pure spectacle though, this game and its ending absolutely blow DS out of the water its not even a debate
s*** was epic and had me going "holy s*** " every 2 minutes
Need to collect my thoughts on the game as a whole still but i definitely liked it more than DS1 like it took everything that was great in it and made it even better while also correcting most of the flaws

I hear ya. I definitely prefer DS2 over DS1 overall but I think I was actually more mind-blown by the ending of DS1 because I really did not connect the dots until the end in terms of who Clifford Unger actually was, but for DS2 I had a suspicion very early on which turned out to be correct. I really hope that at some point they'll make another sequel cus I don't feel like I'm done with this franchise yet. There's more continents that need to be put on the chiral network so there's room for more but Kojima said he wouldn't personally be directing it.

The Cliff story did hit harder because of how personnal it was but i did like how the Neil Vana story put a light on what happened 11 years ago because in the first game u could find those reports from Lucys perspective and the way they ended always felt very strange to me like something wasnt right and well, turns out that was the case, plus i really loved both Lucy and Neil they were awesome
Agreed that i definitely more from DS not even necesseraly a sequel but i wouldnt be opposed to some interesting spin of game maybe 🤔 and well Kojima also said he wouldnt direct any MGS past 2 and look how that turned out haha, i hope he keeps making what he wants but id still love to see another episode of this series from him
Kinda funny i thought the end of ds1 was a bit of a slog but in ds2 i felt it wrapped up too quickly

Yeah exactly. Cliff felt more personal but the story surrounding Neil & Lucy was so great and I loved both of those characters. I love how you got to see what led to the big void-out that Sam was part of when he lost Lucy which took place years before his journey in the first game.
Give troy Baker some sort of award too dude is going crazy with it
I'll take the damage and the goods. I don't break that easy
Also have to mention Die Hardmans dance scene cause wow that was something else

I cringed for a few seconds and then I bust out dancin'

I was genuinely speechless
but now that i think about it i think this scene is honestly kinda genius
APAS 4000 conclusion being that movement of all kind has to stop for humanity and DH shows it movement is the driving force that makes us human by showcasing some sick moves 🤔
Might as well just be kojima completely losing it, or both
Fun fact about some of the actors in this game:
The actor that plays Heartman (Nicolas Winding Refn) is married to the actor that plays The Hydrologist (Liv Corfixen)

The Metagenomicist (Lola Winding Refn) and The Chronobiologist (Lizzie Lou Winding Refn) are the real life daughters of Heartman and The Hydrologist

Cool ain't it?
im ngl i didnt like the ending as much this time around
not counting the final higgs fight, that was amazing
like what even came of the whole server rack thing that APAS had on the beach?

From my understanding we just short circuited that stuff with the drawbridge Q pid but i agree that plot point was kinda dealt with too quickly
One major thing i did not like about this game is how it basically exampted Amélie/Bridget from any responsability in the whole sacrificial BB thing even though in DS1 that was a big thing, she was definitely behind most of it, shes behind Sam who was the original BB, it was even hinted at that she was interested in Lucy because she was carrying Sams child and it could have great potential... I felt like in DS2 they just kinda swept all that under the rug and just said yeah Bridget never knew any of this... Its also weird that like Sam never mentions that stuff when he knows about it
I felt that overrall the game made a good job at being a sequel and acknowledging what happened in the first game but this was very strange
kojima rlly went back to back
the neil story did not grip me anywhere as much as cliff’s did but the ending still tied everything together so beautifully, my GOAT is still doing it decades later
even with my story gripes, i still loved the game
how yall feel about the roadtrip vibes? it was constantly getting me all emotional because i love to travel with my friends. every new person who joined the ship made me so happy, and i loved the dynamic between the girls.
