Crazy how i can see constructive debates back and forth some place else, but all I see in this section are posters calling other posters either bums or idiots.

i get it if he's tryna say like... a lot of black artists have the potential to be making music that gets that popular, or 'good', (including pop smoke), but they get caught up in the violence

Right. I think the point might be, once you get to that stage of your career, you need to get out of that lifestyle.

I know it’s what you know and what you grew up in and your music is based around it, but being in that lifestyle does nothing for you at that point of your career. It will only drag you down.

So how’s it been 40 years and all we f***in rap about is weapons"

White people kill each other all the time btw

Point me in the direction of a genre that has as many murdered or jailed artists as rap. That was his point.

  • These dudes were raised in this environment at the end of the day. They just were fortunate enough to live their dreams as “rap stars” ..

And that doesn’t change what their cores are, it exaggerates it.

he worded this in probably the worst way possible

    justin bieber?

“ we gotta stop killing each other....look at Michael buble. “

    I fixed it.

  • There are rappers who grew up in the suburbs who idolize, romanticize, promote and even mimick the street lifestyle

Due to the strong appeal it has..

  • TIIMMY BURNER

Rap is a product of black peoples situations due to centuries of white supremacy along with white executives and white owned labels pushing this kind of music to perpetuate black people with this image

White people kill more and are generally more violent in reality, this is fact🙏🏽

The stupid ass myth of Black on Black violence being repeated because it's a convenient sound bite that helps blame individuals instead of institutional and historical conditions
