    No trolling, I wanna know.

Drake gave him a major look putting him on TC & bringing him on the Club Paradise tour whilst being on GKMC.

He birthed him then cowered to him. Life crazy fr

Kendrick already had a considerable amount of buzz due to SXN 80 and being signed to Dre

Drake helped somewhat I guess but nothing substantial

Absolutely 100%. He wasn’t the only reason or main reason, but being on the track after Marvins Room on Take Care definitely helped Kendrick. His trajectory however would’ve been pretty similar with or without Drake.

    Kendrick wouldn’t exist without Drake

  • Nov 16, 2021

He can't even help his own label...

  • Most definitely, the Take Care feature was incredible and Club Paradise tour was huge. Him and Rocky got a boost

yes and no. the Club Paradise tour & Buried Alive gained him some Drake fans but I guarantee his career arc would essentially be the same. outside of being featured on F***ing Problems. that song Was big for him. can't act like all the groundwork Kendrick and TDE did would've been washed away if Drake didn't give him a hand. Dre was already courting him iirc

It's indisputable that he helped propel him forward. He had some buzz from Hiii Power and Section 80 in general, but it was the TC Buried Alive interlude and subsequent Club Paradise tour exposure that vaulted him. People who listened to rap knew who he was before, but the general public essentially found out about him through Drake.

It's revisionist history to claim otherwise.

Yes, then Kendrick had the nerve to mention him on Control verse.

    The audacity.

  • Nov 16, 2021

Drake literally gave him his biggest look after Section .80 so yes.

Not only did he big Kendrick up, he put him on his tour AND gave him his own interlude on Take Care.

  • Nov 16, 2021

    He helped

  • Nov 16, 2021

Yes, inspired him too. Drake was the first person outside of TDE to hear Section 80. Kendrick also said So Far Gone was the reason he felt he had to make Section 80 as good as an album.

  • Absolutely. Buried Alive Interlude was one of the first Kendrick songs that a lot of people heard. Plus, Poetic Justice and doing he Take Care tour was huge for Kenny’s career

  • Nov 16, 2021

I look at the fact drake fw kendrick heavy early on and putting him on tour says a lot about how in tune he always is with talent

  • Nov 16, 2021

To be honest the club paradise tour help produce the new school and new wave before the 2016 surge of rappers

  • Yes he helped some. T - Minus did Swimming Pools who was OVO which was probably Kendeicks first big song, Club Paradise tour and he was on Take Care. AB Soul had a tweet that explained it but I probably won't be able to find it.

  • Nov 16, 2021

Idk, I put my friends on Kendrick before they worked together. HiiiPower, Reagan Era, Rigamortis, Rolling Stone, ADHD. Working with Drake only made him bigger though.

    Unforgivable

  • Nov 16, 2021

Yeah he helped but Kendrick was gonna blow regardless. Section 80 was getting TONS of love and people already knew he was coming up. Plus the Dre co-sign.

But drake putting him on take care and having him on the tour definitely helped the momentum.

  • Nov 16, 2021

In addition to what’s already been mentioned, Drake initially gave F***in Problems to Kenny for GKMC

Rightfully so, I would feel slighted if someone dissed me and I helped put on.

It wasn’t a strong enough diss to reply to anyways, it was simply a name drop.
