It would’ve been f***ed up if Kendrick only went after Drake specifically. But he went after Drake, Jermaine, Jay Elec, Mac Miller, Big Sean, Tyler, Wale, Big K.R.I.T etc etc

Like Christ it’s literally just rapping. Competing. The majority of the people listed understood that. He even said he got love for all of them, word for word. Drake had a very sensitive reaction to it and you definitely do too. It’s like the “Drake is the type of” memes write themselves in real life.

Drake is my guy but I agree, Drake didn’t need to react like that

You don’t have a clue about respect do you

Nah it’s more than just rap, those other artist didn’t help out his career. Kendrick just came off as being ungrateful.

Ye still calls Jay his boss even though he surpassed him, showing the ultimate respect because what he did for his career.

This is why most Kendrick Stan’s are phony rap fans.

    This s*** right here

    I literally can’t LMAO.

I don’t give a flying f*** what you think about Kendrick fans or how sensitive you are about Control. It’s irrelevant at this point. Drake literally posted Kendrick on his IG story. You need to get over yourself and your idea of “respect”. While Drake helped give him a boost, Kendricks Trajectory would’ve been pretty similar without his feature on Take Care. And Kendrick and Drake never had the relationship of Ye and Jay, that’s a silly comparison. They equals like Cole and Kenny.

Nobody in rap at that level is making it on their own I can promise you that. Drake gave him the look and Kendrick put the work in as simple as that

Yeah and I like a lot of Drakes music as well. It was stupid and clearly pretty petty.

    You quoted me

Obviously it’s been years since that verse happened. I’m just explaining why Drake reacted the way he did back then. Drake felt disrespected because of all the things he did for him, which he didn’t have to do at all. Any human can realize that s*** hurts.

Drake was a bit too senstive but when you have the full context of Kendrick reaching out to Drake to hear Section 80 first, Drake taking him on tour, putting him on Take Care. A relationship based on nothing but love and helping someone out where possible it just seems weird Kendrick acted like it was a random rap nigga that was his competition as soon as he blew up a bit funny style

The energy switched from these times:

and the other vid I posted above where Kendrick was saying Drake inspired his approach to Section 80

  • Nov 16, 2021

Ye also put him on the Yeezus tour too.

But that was for GKMC already tho I guess

  • Nov 16, 2021

gta v put him on more than drake

  • Nov 16, 2021

Yes but we'll do this thread again and again and again because no one ever likes to give Drake credit for anything

  • Mmm Hmm 😈
    Nov 16, 2021

I learned about Kendrick thru his feature on take care.

    So......

  • Nov 16, 2021

Put on might be too strong a word, he helped Kendrick grow though for sure

  • Nov 16, 2021

    Yes and No

First time I saw Kendrick live was at Club Paradise tour and that probably put him on with a certain type of audience but you’d see his name around on the blogs and he had a Dre co sign and Gaga was supposed to be on his first single. Lol he was good as long as he is still signed to Dre and has GKMC in the tuck

definitely gave him the look no doubt but I wouldn’t credit Drake alone for his rise & fame

I just see some ppl going with that narrative itt

  • Nov 17, 2021

Yes, Kendrick had his own buzz going at the time but being on Take Care definitely helped in someway. (He was at Ovofest too right?)
