How are you personally coping?

Lately we don’t really I’m lucky I was able to fuel up like 2 weeks ago so I’m still able to get to anything essential but not much more than that
Personally it’s only really affected me in that it’s become hard to get around/meet my friends/get food delivered/even go to the movies so I’m fortunate for that but there’s definitely communities dealing with it way harder

This is ridiculous and unfair. I come from a country where our dictator embezzled billions over 3 decades and left the people and country in poverty and it still didn’t get this bad. People shouldn’t be forced to pay for the corruption of others

Update for anyone interested:
There were a bunch of protests planned for tomorrow to demand that the president resign (as has been done before) so the president has now imposed a police curfew allowing for anyone who disobeys it to be arrested/shot on sight 🙄
Oh and on top of that there’s rumors that he’ll be shutting down all mobile networks for the day 🙄

Is India doing anything?

They’re for sure helping more than most other countries rn they’ve been giving us loans and credit lines to buy fuel and essentials like medicine so bless em for that 🙏🏾
The problem is we’re just in such a bad state that that’s still nowhere near enough help

1. The government is dominated by one corrupt family for decades

2. They depend too much on tourism than diversify their economy and the pandemic and russia/ukraine war exposed that flaw hard

3. They kept spending beyond their means with loans after loans with not enough domestic returns to meet payments.

This will be the story of a lot of third world countries right now by the end of the year, if not sooner.
