The vast majority of people are smart and care about others, and would be even smarter if tasked with the responsibility of controlling their country. I cannot prove this to you, but you cannot prove to me that they're stupid.

Also, voting and counting can be instantaneous, it's called computers, there are already election systems in place that run off of etherium and other blockchain technologies, they're far superior in every objective way to traditional physical election systems.

If it actually impacts them and their country, they'll read 1000 pages, even if they're literally mentally challenged. I refuse to believe people would be so lazy, especially when they've given actual responsibility and control. I mean y'all are a bunch of teenage rap fans and yet there's an active politics board here, we're a perfect example of even seemingly dumb people spending hours talking about making the world a better place.

If 90% don't read it, there will be consequences, and they will suffer, and people won't be able to point their fingers at politicians anymore. They'll realize it's up to them to figure this out, and that they actually need to sit down and read some s***. They'll realize they can't depend on other people to solve their problems for them, and the importance of being politically educated and active. Then they'll read, if they didn't in the first place.

USA hasn't done computer voting because it's still an in development technology and it's not ready to be implemented into an existing system of hundreds of millions of voters. But it will be soon.

I've lived in mental hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters, third world countries, as well as marinas and rich ass neighborhoods. You're failing to understand my point, representative democracy is the cause of the general publics "stupidity and laziness" as you call it. Direct democracy is the solution, people won't be able to be stupid and lazy in a direct democracy, it forces people to actually think instead of just trusting others have thought for them.

well some kind of platform for direct democracy will only be possible in a system radically different from the current one. one that encourages critical thinking and makes the time to reflect and educate yourself available.
