Yeah it’s why I never understood the ire Drake got for working with newer artists.

People called him a culture vulture and now we have the same rotating cast of rappers

Yes. Tired of seeing albums with the same exact niggas on it all the time. S*** be lookin like DJ Khaled type projects.

But does it matter if the songs are good?

Ultimately those tracks end up sounding generic as hell and like I've heard them many times before already...mostly because I have basically heard them many times before already.

    I blame capitalism

Why put a risky feature on an album when a safe one will stream better?

  • It's always funny these artists that listen to so much music but never actually get influenced to spice up their own s***.

Drake had a great Billie Eilish collab that he just....discarded for 21 Savage feature #524 like I don't understand niggas man lol.

But to respond to the topic I think a lot of artists just feel more in their comfort zone working with niggas they cool with.

Like I don't know how people still be getting excited when they see a mainstream artist's tracklist and it's the usual features from Future, Uzi, Young Thug, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, etc...with those same niggas oftentimes featuring on two tracks on the album.

Don't know why these artists bother tryna keep the features hidden until close to release too because it's not like it's ever a surprise who they get on there.

I agree. It can get repetitive but niggas always gonna defer to know they know they have chemistry with than who they don't.

I think a better message is that more rappers should work with being cool with one another so more relationships are fostered and more chemistry is built.

I wonder how much of it is from them seeing hundreds of tweets and IG posts saying "X and Y on Z" with this picture before the song has even come out.

They get excited because they know what they are going to get. You see a Drake feature on a Future album and it makes you anticipate it more because you know their track record.
