this s*** felt rushed as hell

Couldn't pay me to watch a live action Disney movie

lion king was a shot for shot remake i personally felt it that whole movie was unnecessary and just a cashgrab

aladdin i couldn't sit through because the animation to real life transition didn't sit well with me and i can't stand the musicals. even though goat ritchie directed it was unwatchable to me

from the trailers it looked like they had the budget. you saying they needed more?

I loved seeing a "real" version of The Lion King. I don't care if they don't smile or things like that lol everything looked dope.

Aladdin looked perfect to me. The actor was good, Jasmine was fine and Will gave that s*** life.

I love both. And most times I don't feel like watching the animated classics in 2020 tbh, so I end up rewatching this.

I prefer newer animation these days for some reason.

Just saying something is missing. Maybe with a lil bit more of money it would have been more special.

I'm not into singing in movies, but they should have at least close the movie with a song.

Bet they will spend more on Beyoncé's Little Mermaid since Black Panther did great numbers lol.

Movie had a $250M budget

As much as any of the SW movies and they’re usually the best looking Disney movies. I think the director just wasn’t ready for this type of massive project or they purposely made it look cheap to appeal to that Bollywood style that’s popular in Asia ? I have no clue where the money went too

A lot of people expected to be able to enjoy a new movie for free. Makes no sense to me.

The movie is brand new.

I torrented it like a lot of people.

It's just some parts. Most of the movie looked nice imo. And the actress was good.

This was awful.

I have more thoughts that I'll post later.

These remakes aren't for everyone. Some people just gonna prefer the animated ones.

I never saw the animated one

I think it's one of the best ones. But they kinda boring trying to watch them as an adult. Except The Lion King imo, that was the best one.

People are too obsessed with the classic animated movies.

Aladdin is more fun. Dude playing Aladdin did great. Jasmine is beautiful and Will is Will, bringing more fun to the movie.

The Lion King is dope, I don't need the lions to smile and s***. They brought the characters to life. Everything looks great and realistic.

Live action lion king sucks. Cartoon is way better.

I can't really watch the cartoons anymore. When you get older, they don't hit the same. But TLK still my favorite, just never watch it.

The remake is easier to watch for me, and the animals look dope.

I liked it. It was good.

What I wrote on Letterboxd:

I’m prefacing this by saying I have zero attachment to the original Disney animated film. So I don’t care about Mushu, the songs, or the other omitted characters.

On its own Mulan is solid. The action (especially in the third act) is great and it tells a solid story. The editing at certain points is atrocious, and certain story beats didn’t completely work, but I had a good time with it.

I'm surprised some people haven't watched the animated one. I think it's top 5 classic Disney.
