I played “Back dat azz up” bc the girls weren’t dancing….n the stage manager IMMEDIATELY told me “yeah, cut this one short.” It showed me how much s*** changed
As a fellow DJ that also likes to go out myself, gotta say bro has a point. it's definitely been a wild shift even from like 10 years ago. The dance floor is not the priority for clubs as much as it used to be. Now you're looked at like you're crazy for being the 1st one out on the dance floor. More people rather stand around take pics for the gram and look cool than actually dance tbh.
In the comments someone said the energy always matches the popular d**** of an era and tbh, thinking about it that would explain a lot.
What do yall think? You think the emphasis on slow/trap music and bottle service has "killed" the dance culture in clubs?
@user (I'm actually curious what you think bout this tbh)
Pullin up to the club like this after this tweet
The bottle service aspect is very interesting seems like a very cogent entry point for a***ysis

I blame everyone not part of my generation.
It's REALLY bad in NYC and (not that I don't live there anymore but I can make a pretty good guess) Atlanta too, the emphasis on bottle service
Maybe play women rappers
They make great dance floor music
My first thought listening to Leikeli47's new album.

Yeah I agree but I was even thinking more mainstream stuff from female rappers doesn't get enough play. And I think it's because the DJ scene is male dominated and they're just not thinking about it.
Like if you're a club DJ every 3rd song should be a Cardi Meg, Doja, Nicki or Latto song. That'll get the women on the floor and the men follow
