if you contribute into composing the melody, vocal production, chord progression and the general structure of the song, then you're definitely listed so.

if someone decides to implement a Deep Purple, Nirvana or Queen guitar or bass riff in their song the original artists NEED to be listed as songwriters despite that being just a melody off an instrument? It's the same reason why The Chi-Lite lead singer got a 50% writing writing credit for Crazy In Love even though the song only sampled the horns.

any contribution to the songwriting process technically warrants a writing credit, that’s how the music industry works ..that’s why percentages exist. You don’t become a huge pop star like Beyonce without a label that provides the best writers, producers and collaborators. Lol
