Just because her contribution seems miniscule to you doesn’t invalidate the credit that she earned. That’s the reason why samples used in songs have the original artist credited as songwriter.

She’s also a vocal producer and contributes a lot to composition of the finished product, musically especially with her vocal arrangements. that requires musicianship; knowing how to extrapolate melodic ideas, create tension using dissonance before resolving to the tonic by the end of the song.. She creates the best bridges. Any musician can tell she has an innate sense of music theory knowledge and musical sensitivity,

I really don't get the outrage either way. Bey probably holds way less than 10% of the song's shares.

Regardless, She sung and spent 11 weeks number 1. And became the biggest radio hit at that time. And that’s that on top of that

Harmonies are your f***ing job as a vocal artist. That's not songwriting. He is just trying to save himself from getting blackballed. This isnt the only example of her getting writing credit. People only tolerate it bc she has power. Beyonce is not a songwriter. Beyonce is not a producer. I dont care what rationalizations you have to dispute that.Harmonizing is not writing. Do you know how many past singers would get writer credits if harmonizing counted as songwriting.
