I agree OP. They barely get mentioned these days anymore, feel like Three 6 has overtaken them in status/public perception
It's crazy how universally celebrated Three 6 are compared to literally all the other groups
Like Wu are still bigger overall but I never see Three 6 getting any hate, even those really young ppl who only listen to 2010's rap still call Mystic Stylez GOAT

And theyre right to do so
And theyre right to do so
Yeah, but they are wrong as s*** about dismissing other classic groups and 90's hip hop in general as "dusty".

Mystic Stylez is timeless.
Break Da Law
Mystic Stylez is timeless.
Break Da Law
Yep.
Da Summa is my fav song on that album
Most of their albums range from solid to great. The only bad album was the last one. Some members had solo classics too.

You’re disrespecting the Bones with all the Memphis love
But if we’re talking about groups with similar style as Bone Thugs and Three 6, you can’t forget Speedknot Mobstarz and Crucial Conflict as well.
They all had beef with Bone Thugs too.
Yep.

Da Summa is so smooth.
I love War With Us too
if someone put a gun to my head and told me to name a bone thugs song tell my mom i love her
Yeah, but they are wrong as s*** about dismissing other classic groups and 90's hip hop in general as "dusty".
don't worry that'll come around in 5 or so years
everyone loved the bone thugs about 10 years ago even well past their run. ever since they beefed with the migos they've disappeared from public perception
No

Even then the love for Three 6 overshadowed Bone Thugs’.
See this thread for example
SpaceGhostPurrp did this song with Krayzie and Bizzy

maybe u should try a different forum
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is my favorite rap group of all time. That being said, no, they do not get the props that they should be getting from most people. Most of these rappers that you guys are listening to nowadays are all using the style that Bone created.
Bizzy Bone's "The Mantra" is a top 3 rap album of the year, by the way.
No but you could say that for a lot of artists from that era nowadays
this
like not even pac and biggie are getting the same respect anymore
Definitely not.
Bone Thugs is a GOAT group that sold a lot of records but suffered from marketing and branding.
If Eazy-E was still living, he would have helped branded them much better.
Wu-Tang Clan, Outkast, G-Unit, Dipset, NWA, etc. all have branding and marketing that has kept their legacies alive even when they weren't active in music anymore.
After Eazy died, Bone never really expanded their brand beyond being fast, melodic spitters from Cleveland. None of the individual members of the group are really iconic enough to stand out on their own and make a name for themselves and that's why they've gotten overlooked over time. And it's sad to see.
