Lupe is a better lyricist than Kendrick. I think what sets them apart is that Kendrick is a better artist. Lupe also didn’t have the team and stability that Kendrick did. There is some jealousy there though. It’s pretty apparent but both are great artists with different strengths. Kendrick just translates a lot better to the mainstream.

I disagree with them not making sense. But I think apart of Kendrick appeal is his ability to make an album that translates. That’s an art. Kanye has that ability. They create these moments with albums. Kendrick isn’t a top tier lyricist but he is about B plus A minus with an A+ level of execution and creativity.

As a Lupe stan I still respect Kendrick and the strides he made. It's just his music doesn't hit as hard for me and sometimes people go too overboard with the praise in regards to him being a lyricist. I still think Kendrick is the better musician however
