I like Drogas Wave and I’m one of the biggest Lupe fans on here but this
is not true at all man.

Drogas Wave is more interesting in terms of concepts and lyrics but some aspects of the production puts it below TPAB. I can't be the only one who thinks this, but I feel that Drogas Wave had some influence from TPAB especially with the last leg of the album. Even Lupe stated that Kendrick is one of his influences to a certain extent from that one Sway interview

I’ve definitely had this thought about Lupe, but no why would I hate?

I don’t think he executed Drogas Wave in the mlre digestible way. The album basically concludes in the middle of the album. Atleast in theory and it sort of changes the vibe of the album.

Lowkey disappointed when the slavery concept only lasted like 8 songs lol, still satisfied with the entire album. I think it's more accessible than TPAB musically at least, but TPAB concept was more straight forward and easier to understand

    To each their own

Agreed. Definitely. T&Y had some influence from GKMC as well I believe. At least the version of T&Y that ended up being released as the official album. Which is dope.

Lupe is a legend and definitey has an edge in lyricism and straight rapping. But yeah as others said Kendrick is the better artist. His storytelling skills makes it so he can relate to the listener much better than Lupe. Just like Kendrick can babble at times Lupe can go overboard with the thesaurus raps that require you to Genius every line

Lupe had the more ambitious concept. If he made it 10 tracks and fleshed it out better it would’ve been one of the greatest albums of all time.

I was able to tell with songs like Chopper and Deliver, even with other tracks from T&Y sessions, but otherwise most of T&Y sounded pretty different.

He said the original version of the album had more skits and songs, think he cut it down due to sample clearance issues. But yea, what it could've been, I would kill to hear leftovers from that album

It’s crazy to think that this is our last decade with Lupe music. He definitely retiring before the decade is done

i feel bad for lupe fans they really think they're on another wavelength bc they like some extreme mid

This must be some of that mysterious mid because who listening to Lupe these days to even judge that?

    1. Stop this narrative that Lupe dislikes Kendrick or is jealous of kendrick cause it's not true. He has given Kendrick props a TON of times. He just doesn't think Kendrick is the second coming of Jesus so morons say that he's a hater.

    2. As a Lupe Stan I love Kendrick. Y'all KTT clowns are stupid. They're both my two favorite artists.
