I look at lyricism on a bell curve. Trying too hard or digging too deep to me makes the quality decline. I see what people say about his lyrical prowess but isn’t being understood the end all be all of criteria. Relaying complex ideas with effective simple language is as lyrical as it gets. Don’t get me wrong songs like Manila are incredible but compared to something like FEAR idk man the simplicity is the magic

When lupe links up with soundtrack and creates a master piece with a dope ass bass line and vibe like King Nas ... That s*** is better than anything that kendrick has every made.,, and Lupe has plenty of examples like that through out his discography.

still a hit and miss artist though, has plenty of duds i rather not listen to. But overall if you got the ear for good music you gotta appreciate some of the s*** lupe has done
