At times yes, but sometimes...a lot of times, unreleased tracks are very good. Some of the best tracks I've heard from Isaiah Rashad, ASAP Rocky, Robb Banks, Earl Sweatshirt, and Danny Brown to name a handful of artists have been unreleased tracks.
gonna ask for some danny brown leak recommendations

Probably seen/heard of this one already
But there's also a comp of tracks he dropped on his Twitch streams called Twitch EP. Also has a comp of unreleased Bruiser Brigade tracks that he's featured heavily on. Forgot the name of that one, but it's easy to find on the Danny Brown subreddit
There's good leaks and bad leaks. Some leaks are just better than official releases. Artists like Thug, keef, yeat, carti, juice wrld, uno ect have some serious unreleased gems

oh yeah forgot about this, thanks for the reminder
I think there are people who hear an unfinished leak and then they imagine what they consider the best possible version of said song, that’s why they go hard about it.
Also hearing something you weren’t meant to adds some value to it
Guilty of doing this.
Interesting perspective.
Would you say that there could be an advantage to leaving some songs in that unmixed and unmastered state, to preserve the rattle, or do you think all songs should be cleaned up
depends on the artist and song. sometimes a not clean mix is really cool i don’t think for instance dean blunt or mach hommy music hits the same if the mixes weren’t as rough but sometimes it’s better off to have a proper mix if it calls for it

Yeah, I think that’s a good attitude to have.
Just feel out what works best for the song, then try to give it what’s best for it to the best of your ability
On the other hand this is Rocky’s best song post testing
I thought you were lying but this is dope
I believe so, yes.

This
Absolutely.
I think it’s the same way of thinking that people have when they feel like underground artists are better than mainstream artists solely because not everyone knows about them.
Leaks are for losers who can’t make music themselves. They enjoy the exclusivity of having and gatekeeping these “songs” because it makes them feel as if they’re apart of the industry/these artist’s camps.
If you can’t create, just consume. It wasn’t meant for you.
Yeah. I saw a Kanye fan on Reddit make a best of Kanye playlist and it was mostly unreleased stuff lmao

Not that deep
Most definitely. A lot of leaks be ass tbh.
9/10 times they sound “ass” only because the it’s not mixed tbh
Don Toliver's leaks are better than the actual s*** he releases officially. It's like when he's in the studio, he chooses the worst of his music
