I mean its important that you understand where this fake history of wwii comes from, the pathetic failed children of european nazis who landed book deals in the US once they could emigrate here in the late 80s.

the atomic bombings were war crimes and this is pretty universally agreed upon, lies about "fighting until the last man" are just a weird racist fantasy by americans who project an orientalist characature of hiveminded nationalism onto the japanese army. the war was virtually over once the soviet liberation of manchuria wiped out a large amount of the standing japanese army.

I get my information from older sources then the guys who had book deals in the '80s, and like I said I've seen it come from Japanese people's mouths in filmed interviews that they never would have surrendered.

Obviously not every Japanese person feels that way but a lot did. As I said, it took them several days for them to even process the fact that the emperor had announced they were surrendering.

And like I said, the war was over as soon as Russia invaded Manchuria because Japanese was low-key depending on making an alliance with them. The Japanese were so haywire that even the bombs werent actually enough to make him tap out instantly.

again, the Soviets would have socialized everything in Japan and put the Japanese communists in power who were getting repressed at the time. There is no way no one in power preferred that to America’s option

I think it was literally over someone saying ‘the ussr was kinda cool wasnt it’, so it wasn’t really warranted to go this specific. And I also think no one was disagreeing with you on whether it happened or not, more so with you trying to use factoids to an unknown end

you have like a pop culture conception of wwii. stalin was not "a paranoid a******" and without the cpsu purges of the early 1930s the nazis could've easily built a fifth column within the ussr. like its not hard to learn basic facts about the eastern front, even that Burt Lancaster documentary goes into the nuance of stalin and zhukov's war strategy. since youre asking for sources you might as well start there.

Idk I always want to hear both sides of the story I guess, particularly about the Big Bad Soviet Union where so many of my favorite films come from. Obviously the west has been raised with a lot of bullshit propaganda, and I want to get to the truth of it.
