best place to start in Stevie discography?
Start at Music of My Mind. Most classify his "golden era" as Talking Book to Songs in the Key of Life, but I start it at Music of My Mind. It was his first true 100% creatively free solo album under a new record deal with Motown at that time.

this nigga really said that Kanye is closer to MJ and Bey just got long legs, i’m still in shock over that. pure misogyny
!https://youtu.be/RzxTHG--KWgkanye can’t do this
To be fair, Bey can't do this

No. And I know you're dead serious too which is sad.
Damn right I’m serious
I love 70s soul as much as the next music nerd and I’m VERY familiar with Stevie’s classic run, probably my fav non rap discography if we being real. I done shed tears to Stevie
That being said I don’t automatically subscribe to the “older non-hip-hop album is automatically better” elitist mentality
Art is art and greatness is greatness man
Stevie and Kanye come from totality different eras with totally different sounds but they both made astronomical impact and practically flawless bodies of work based on the standards of their respective genres
Neither could dream of accomplishing what the other has creatively or otherwise
I ain’t saying Kanye albums better I’m just saying it’s comparable from a historical standpoint
I don't care how it "works". Three album of the year grammy wins in four years is how it works. Like I said, no one is matching his golden run of albums. It literally hasn't been matched. That's not an opinion.
oh s***. that's my bad
It’s funny how Beyoncé is looked at as bigger than life outside of this site and this site be tryna stunt like she ain’t that b****.
Nah, for reasons already itt
Interesting prompt and good thread though. Thanks op! Please keep it up

i dont think she has an undeniable classic album like the rest of those guys imo. Renaissance is close but only time will tell if it will hold up.
No. And I know you're dead serious too which is sad.
cut it out pleb... ye better
i'm kinda mad i read thru this thread
no clue why i even bothered clicking on this thread in the first place tbh, every beyonce thread on this hellhole goes the same exact way
No
I think comparing her to Michael Jackson makes more sense than Prince/Stevie Wonder. She falls under MJ’s umbrella a lot more logically than Prince/Stevie. Amazing entertainers and performers while Prince/Stevie are incredible multi-instrumentalists and songwriters. Which isn’t to say MJ and Beyoncé cannot construct songs on their own or Prince/Stevie can’t put on amazing performances (that would be blasphemy), but I’m just talking about how they function as artists legacy wise and approached music. It’s weird to pit them in this way imho.
All that said, I think MJ is MJ and he’s just in his own tier. But I’d put Beyoncé pretty high up there as of today. I think her, Madonna (I know
), Janet are that next tier and I’m probably forgetting folks.
How?
My old account was connected to my old Twitter, and I deleted it. But luckily I created a password for it.
no
she does not match up to those you listed in discography, technical instrumental ability, production, or even songwriting.
