i’ve been saying for years that if she divorced that nigga, her stock would go UP
it would probably even change the way society views divorced women. so many women would leave their man just because Bey did it lmao
I work in EU Employment Law and we had to be brought up to speed about people leaving their jobs in lieu of notice because Beyoncé told them to
I mean, it's pretty much always charting regardless of the situation

also valid
loving this debate

Sorry I missed this post. I wasn't disagree or insinuating, just reaffirming that the 40 year reissue came out at that time and it's amazing
I believe Starlight itself also charted
off impact alone, i wanna say MJ
then Prince, then Stevie… but you can’t go wrong with any. they’re all top of the top and i wouldn’t be mad at anyone ranking them differently
MJ for me too lol, probably the first artist I ever Stanned 😅
Stevie and Prince are in their own tier of musicians beyond these other two
MJ is more impactful than all of them, though. Just Stevie and Prince really producing their own albums and doing so much of the instrumentation alongside the songwriting is a lot for me.
As great as she is & as iconic as she is
For some reason I can’t place her with those names
atleast not yet
i'll say this
l i think the fact that Beyonce doesn't do traditional rollouts slightly hinders her potential to be mentioned with the 3 in OP.
Stevie, Prince, and MJ came from an era where they had to be more active with the promotion of their music because obviously radio and MTV were the predominant formats where people consumed music back in the day (im speaking about the average person). The music industry is a lot different now than it was then, and i think if you're not constantly in front of the cameras, active on socials or whatever, then sadly people will move on to the next thing (i'm not saying people will forget about Beyoncé, she's obviously still huge for a reason)
Beyoncé can easily cook up some promotion that'd get her a lot more exposure nowadays with the masses...i think Renaissance could've been that album
I think some of this is fair to say for Beyonce's recent outputs as a multi-decade veteran, but she also came up in a similar era tho and has already played that part well. She came up in 90s and 2000's
Industry is different now like you said and i think that along with her having 3 kids now just made her approach it differently. It woulda bumped Renaissance up a notch sure but i think she'll pull something with the inevitable album vid or stadium tour. She hasn't left any studio album era yet without a major moment
Like yall are using Prince and Stevie which are phenomenal acts but they fell out of mainstream eye or where on/off after a while too so its not exactly even to compare a Renaissance to Stevie's classic era or Prince's 80's
In cultural impact, probably in the tier below them (probably close to Stevie, obv not MJ)
Those are just the gold standards in terms of music talent though. With how streamlined music crafting is now, I don’t think we’ll ever see someone gush talent the way that generation and before did
Beyonce is legendary but her run is not competing with Stevie's run
Talking Book
Music of My Mind
Innervisions
Fulfillingness First Finale
Songs In The Key of Life
Hotter Than July
Barely anyone is coming close to that run
i feel like the album would've been in the public consciousness more if the damn MVs dropped...the fast food era mentality is squandering the potential for successful rollouts
Yeah the rollout has been an absolute mess since the release of the album. Her best album but worst era. BUT if she can re-ignite some of it by dropping the visuals, maybe she’ll have the last laugh, expanding the era beyond what is typical for the streaming era. Tour announcement and Grammys are gonna help as well, starting next week.
Y’all do agree Yonce is over Usher on the icons list tho right?
this been known no shade to usher tho he a goat too
MJ is very far above everybody else
But I’d definitely put Beyoncé up there, she’s a cultural icon and one of the greatest ever. Slightly below Drake, however!
Absolutely

She dropped a WAYYY better house album than Drake so yeah she’s above homie

no way you fell for the bait.
F*** no.
Think about it.
Everyone wants to be Beyonce with her stardom, but what about her does folks recall or wish to replicate when they think of Beyonce?
Don't get me started with iconic visuals or moments that goes with music hand in hand like Prince's purple rain, Nirvana Unplugged, Michael Jackson's entire thriller album music videos run.
She doesn't hold a candle to these folks, she is a tier below.
The fact so many listens to her and blindly does what she says without warning is very concerning imo, but oh well, whatever helps them sleep at night.
She is a brand, nothing more at this point for the public
