btw im not saying bey is better than mj or any of those three, obviously culturally mj has no peer. but im just saying with everything bey has done you can make an argument that she’s in the same tier

  • Jan 29, 2023

she has great albums but those artists made purple rain, songs in the key of life and thriller

shes like one tier down from them

I mean, it's pretty much always charting regardless of the situation

    i'll say this

l i think the fact that Beyonce doesn't do traditional rollouts slightly hinders her potential to be mentioned with the 3 in OP.

Stevie, Prince, and MJ came from an era where they had to be more active with the promotion of their music because obviously radio and MTV were the predominant formats where people consumed music back in the day (im speaking about the average person). The music industry is a lot different now than it was then, and i think if you're not constantly in front of the cameras, active on socials or whatever, then sadly people will move on to the next thing (i'm not saying people will forget about Beyoncé, she's obviously still huge for a reason)

Beyoncé can easily cook up some promotion that'd get her a lot more exposure nowadays with the masses...i think Renaissance could've been that album

Here’s the original demo to beat it where Michael shows his recording process and what he would hand to a producer for completion.

Here’s live audios from the recording of thriller as well as producers breaking down and explaining Michael's recording process, including Quincy Jones.

    Enjoy

Had to stop listening to this because it's starting to become production erasure. Their comment about Rock With You is WTF:

MJ did not write or produce Thriller nor did he produce the brunt of the album

MJ is great but so are Q, Rod and Bruce S. That was lightning in a studio.

Remember, this original comment started as dude saying "I can listen to whoever I want and it doesn't change the fact you pitted artists who played their own instruments and produced their own songs opposed to someone who can hold a note and put on a good show"
If you do not think MJ falls into that category of not playing instruments nor producing their own songs, then that's fair enough

All I'm hearing is the voice IS an instrument and it is instrumental in the studio

    vocal producing queen

Nope. She can't be compared to any of those multi-talent artists. Her talent is her voice and that's it. Her fat cheeks bumps up her score a bit but not enough

off impact alone, i wanna say MJ

then Prince, then Stevie… but you can’t go wrong with any. they’re all top of the top and i wouldn’t be mad at anyone ranking them differently

  • Jan 29, 2023

People do act like Bey has no say in what she’s singing just cause she’s not penning lyrics herself tho

y’all gotta stop knocking bey for having writers/ not producing enough on her own lol (especially when some of the artists y’all stan has writers) to me having a great vision, ideas, and execution trumps being able to play like 100 different instruments/ writing everything on your own

ehhh…. i agree with the first part but not the second part lol

  • Jan 29, 2023

She's one of the best out of all of her contemporaries, and she's one of the greatest live performers and vocalist in her own right.

    Don't confuse fame with infamy

Beyoncé only needs to kill Hov to reach that level of scandal. This is a wild metric to use

i’ve been saying for years that if she divorced that nigga, her stock would go UP

it would probably even change the way society views divorced women. so many women would leave their man just because Bey did it lmao
