vinyls are way cooler and serve as decorative artpieces more than cd cases
also vinyls outsold cds for the first time since the introduction of cds a year or 2 ago
this is true and the statistics prove it, but whats hot one year is not the next. this could be a good thing for people who collect vinyl though...if the demand isn't there like what it used to be, then prices could come down
Unmatched feeling
And I know that's kind of a boomer thing to say but idk it feels so much more special to go out buy a record look at the art the liner notes and then putting it on, feels so nostalgic
Still very cool to be able to access anything u wish to listen to in an instant but it also makes music feel more disposable somehow

yeah its cool to see the value of all my vinyls appreciate. makes me feel like a god of music taste

Especially when anticipating the release for so long
Got some great memories of picking up physical releases & waiting outside the shop to open

i remember when Apple used to include digital booklets and bonuses back in the iTunes days...i have very vivid memories of Plastic Beach having something like that around 2010
I hope so, but I doubt it, because people don't care enough about CDs like they do Vinyls, and it's crazy because you can do so much more with a CD digitally
but whats the point of doing stuff with a CD digitally when there's streaming. or is there something im missing
Don't think so. I am wondering if this streaming era is the final form of music consumption though.

all those enhanced CDs you'd put in the computer back in the day used to have cool little bonuses outside of the music

Or even just going to the store looking at CDs and picking one or two up just because u like the artwork is super fun
And let's say u drop your phone with hundreds of local files of rare music stored in it in the toilet effectively wasting all of it totally didn't happen to me
losing a 256 gb sd card with rare music
this kinda pain is unbelievable

YES plastic Beach is such a great exemple like that's one of the few times it felt actually worth buying a digital release, it's sad it didn't influence more people to do similar things

i was just thinking this...i cant see it progressing outside of streaming tbh

facts lmao
the convenience of it now is amazing like you said but its so cool & adds to the actual music

Brain chips implanted or some s*** lol
Remembering being a kid and buying my first cds and just playing them on repeat because that's all the music I had at my disposal

man you're not far off from an idea i had when i was a kid. i had this concept in my head that you'd buy some headphones and put like an SD card in it...how naive i was lol

idk if it's just a me thing or what, but i have much more restraint skipping songs when i listen to a CD than streaming
I mean these gen z niggas been on the 2000s d*** heavy recently, so maybe they’ll think cds is retro 4 years from now..
Maybe to collect them but not in terms of listening to music. It wouldn't make sense.
