No. Vinyl makes sense as the collectors item physical copy and vinyl set up’s look cool. There’s no reason for any other physical medium to exist.
too much to produce? that’s not true at all. outside of streaming, it’s the cheapest medium to distribute music
costs too much to produce as in revenue for profit

mmmm well maybe. CD sales have been on the rise since last year, so we'll see if it maintains that momentum in the future
i’ve always been curious to hear albums on blu-ray. how do they compare to CDs sound quality wise?
From time to time a Blu-ray release might have a more dynamic mastering on it or a multichannel version you can't get elsewhere. I know it's been this way for some releases by Hendrix, Beatles, Beach Boys
Not sure which because my 6TB hard drive broke today!!! Wish I stored that s*** on CD now lol

i’ve seen a lot of older people gravitate towards a 5.1 surround sound mix when listening to music i’m very intrigued

I don't have a surround set up but a well done MCH mix will also translate to stereo when downmixed, that's how I listen to Pet Sounds
i think they are slowly

Tryna get a quadrophonic system up
Need them to have digital downloads and be a bit more expensive so only people who really enjoy collecting them can justify buying them
otherwise physical media <<<

The Hi-Res mono version of Pet Sounds is so good. Sounds like your listening to a clean vinyl on some good speakers
Owning physical media is always better. Look at how easily digital media is discarded. There’s lost albums, movies, and games that are lost in the ether cuz they’re not on some streaming service or something.
Y’all sleep
I don't know if they will make a comeback but I would love if they did though.
I still purchase physical CD's from the artists that I really like. I still love to flip through the booklet and look at the artwork inside and see which songs are produced by which producers.
but why buy that when you have access to nearly unlimited music for $10 a month
Cuz a lot of these streaming services are missing a lot of music.
I tried to find the Space Jam soundtrack on Apple Music to listen to the song Busta Rhymes / Method Man / LL and Coolio had on there. Just to find out 75% of the album is missing

does ur CDs get taken from u when s*** goes down lol?
also it's more than just owning the music
CDs better than vinyl 2 simply cuz sound quality

I gotta get my living room set up for this.
Might get a projector too, set up a crazy sound system.
Feel something different
Tbh,I'd rather have a new format introduced as physicals. Imagine USB-C USBs with CD Quality or higher being able to play on all phones

I mean you can do that

I'd honestly rather just download music at this point,i just think people would be down for USB physical copies of albums as long as they don't have to buy new gear to play it.

Yeah people do that, I've seen people selling custom USBs with albums loaded on them, they can get pretty nice as well.
