  • Idk exactly how to phrase it but people who still claim to be obsessed with young thug in 2025 give the same vibe as people who still retweet asap yams for the aesthetic

they list him as an influence, but was he actively in the studio helping them craft their careers and pushing them next to him?

so you see no value in Thug putting on

    Gunna
    Lil Baby
    Wheezy
    Turbo

signing them, rapping on all their music, pushing them as the new generation to focus on, and helping them establish their sound and fashion look and influence a whole new generation and taking them mainstream

because Keef did it once at 16 but not the crew part as well? which is a conversation we have here all the time when it comes to an artists influence and impact, is their label building strength as well as it is a major factor

Nah. Especially when you consider the fact that Keef has way more known songs and his music had more impact than Thug.

And tryna sneak in Weezy and Turbo is just stat padding. Especially when niggas are just now catching up to the type of s*** Keef was rapping on in like 2013-14

  • Idk but all I know is he had the best verse on that weedplate baby joint

  • Future has like 13 straight number one albums.

  • Bernie X

I don’t even think I would even put Future next to Wayne

    Thug either btw

    being fair to Wayne here

  • future is more consistent but thug has much higher highs

  • Bernie X

I don’t even think I would even put Future next to Wayne

Wayne is a clear cut #1

Future is the closest since him tho.

In regards to that lane of rap.

Wayne created the lane. He the Jordan of that discussion.

Still there are Kobe's, Brons, Curry's, KDs etc

  • Also maybe it’s just my own sort of bias perception but it genuinely did feel like the talisman of modern atl had been removed when he was rico’d & it set things back somewhat, that’s with future still out here being reasonably prolific, to me that’s another demonstration of his actual legacy

  • Free YoungBoy

A lot of rappers had YSL chains throughout the years.

But the main point is we can’t act like Thug is way ahead of Sosa. The s*** thug did in his late 20s and early 30s, Sosa did that all before he was 20

Uzi still wearing the YSL chains

  • HURRY UP sab 🧔🏻
    zenirama

Future music is aging a lot better than thugs

Slime Season 1&2 just dropped on streaming and sound better than anything else out today

  • Free YoungBoy

Nah. Especially when you consider the fact that Keef has way more known songs and his music had more impact than Thug.

Mr. I’m a Stoner? King Slime? bruh Thug has so many hits in different eras that are very well known before we even exit his run with Rich Homie

let’s just agree to disagree cause we not gone have a straight conversation. Wheezy and Turbo aren’t stat padding, they are a part of the list of his influence as he rapped on their production greatly and it made two of his artists mainstream

    Wayne

    Thug & Future

  • Tune like Wayne???

No lol but thug is a legend

  • Niggamortis

    Wayne

    Thug & Future

    Wayne
    Future

    Thug

    In terms of career success

  • Thought op was talking about Lucki at first lol

  • On par with the GOAT? Nah

I’ll take Thugger over future tho any day

  • OMEGA

Like I feel what you saying. It's just that Wayne and Future are on another level in regards of whatever we give thug credit for.

Number #1 hits, Number #1 albums, Grammy's, Career defining moments in the culture. (Even as recent as last year for Future), Longevity, Influence, hits spanning decades, Ushering in new rap stars, star producers etc etc.

Thug just doesn't have that. He is in that Chief Keef tier if you ask me

That’s fair. I think your opinion isn’t bad, even if I slightly disagree

  • You a b**** if you say no

  • Was gonna say some s*** but tbh I hold Thug and Fewtch over Wayne any day LMAO bruh not getting spins in my whip over those 2 artists

  • idk, i aint listen to wayne as much as people around me did growing up but a lot of stuff i heard from him i like of course

but the s*** i grew up on, id say my top 3 are thug, future, and sosa (no particular order)

  • Valentine

Barter 6 is literally: Young Thug, The Hits ya’ll are severely underrating how massive that tape was everywhere

Heard a car bumping check the other day

  • Lil Wayne…………………are we being serious?????????????

  • This gotta be rage bait
